MAHCET 2017 Exam pattern, Syllabus and Marking Scheme have been announced by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. The date for opening the registration process for the online exam is proposed to be announced shortly. MAH MBA-CET 2017 is scheduled to be held on March 4 & 5, 2017 across the country as online computer based test.

JBIMS to remain out of CAP round
One of the key features in MAHCET 2017 will be that the star attraction for the MBA aspirants, JBIMS Mumbai will not participate in Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2017 to be conducted by DTE Maharashtra for admission to MBA/MMS/PGDM in 400+ Maharashtra B-schools. Although JBIMS will accept MAHCET 2017 and CAT 2016 scores, it will conduct its own PI round instead of getting candidates for admission through CAP round.

DTE Maharashtra would be conducting Common Entrance Test for admission to MBA/MMS /PGDM/PGDBM courses beginning the academic year 2017-19 in 400+ B-schools across Maharashtra with an intake of 44000 students.

MAHCET 2017: Exam Pattern & duration

  • MAH MBA-CET 2017 will be conducted in online mode.
  • The test will be of 150 minutes (2 and half hours) duration
  • The test will consist of only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
  • There will be 5 answer options for each question.
  • The questions will not carry negative marking for any wrong answer.

Sectional composition & Marking scheme
MAH MBA-CET 2017 will be a 150 minute exam and will be divided in 4 sections with total number of 200 MCQs carrying maximum 200 marks

MAHCET 2017: Exam Syllabus
DTE Maharashtra has also announced the syllabus for MAH MBA-CET 2017. Section wise syllabus is shared below-

Logical and Abstract Reasoning
This shall include questions to measure how quickly and accurately you can think. The section may have questions based on figures and diagrams and also on Verbal Reasoning.

Quantitative Aptitude
This shall include questions to know how fast and accurate you can work with numbers, do numerical calculations, understand various arithmetic problems involving ratio & proportion, percentage etc. This test also helps to measure your power of quantitative reasoning, interpretation of tables, common graphs & charts.

Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension
This shall include the passages with questions based on their contents to test your comprehension. Your English language ability would be tested through questions on Grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension of passages etc.

Your English language ability would be tested through questions on-
(1) Understanding of the contents of the passages and
(2) Choice of appropriate words, phrases, expressions and similar language skills.    

MAH MBA-CET 2017 for admission to MBA/MMS in Maharashtra B schools offers a good opportunity for the candidates who wish to improve on their CAT 2016 scores. MAHCET 2017 will be the gateway to top rated B-Schools in Maharashtra like KJ Somaiya, SIMSREE, NL Dalmiya, DSIMS, MET, PUMBA and many others.

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra has although placed in public domain the syllabus and marking scheme for MAH MBA-CET 2017 exam, for admission to MBA/MMS/PGDM/PGDBM courses 2017-19 in the AICTE approved B schools, the announcement in regard to date of starting registration and application process for MAH MBA-CET 2017 is yet to be made.
