Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad is considering Mohali, the rapidly growing township on the outskirts of Chandigarh, for setting up its new campus.

It will take a couple of years for the launch of this new campus. Speaking with MBAuniverse.com, Dr M Rao, Dean, ISB, said, "We are planning to develop our second campus in Mohali. We are in the process of discussions with the Punjab Government. It will take a couple of years to establish campus."  

When asked what will be the focus of this new campus, Dean Rao said, "The campus will have special focus on three major areas -- Healthcare, Manufacturing and Public policy." Dr Rao spoke to MBAUniverse.com on the sidelines of AIMS round table conference in Delhi on February 26.  

Besides planning expansion, ISB is also planning to increase its batch size at existing ISB campus in Hyderabad. Said Dr Rao, "We will increase the current batch size of students at ISB from 425 students to 450 by the month of April 2008. In future, we will expand to 560 seats."  

With the inclusion of ISB in the global Top 20 ranking by Financial Times, ISB is also looking forward for increase in number of foreign students. Said Dr Rao, "We are delighted to see ISB ranked so high on the FT global MBA ranking. Our inclusion in top 20 ranking will definitely help us to attract more foreign students." 

Indian School of Business (ISB) was ranked as no 20 in the global top MBA ranking by Financial Times, London. ISB was ranked ahead of more fancied B-schools like Kellogg School of management (#24).   

When asked how ISB plans to maintain its good showing, Dean Rao said, "We want to focus on faculty development and research. We are planning to increase our permanent faculty base."
