JBIMS Mumbai will open its MMS 2017-19 admission application process around 1-2 months before the MAH CET MBA/MMS 2017 exam which is scheduled to be held on March 4 & 5, 2017 across the country. According to the JBIMS sources “An advertisement inviting applications for the MMS/MSC Finance full-time program is put up in the leading newspapers a month or two before the exam.” The online application form when enabled will be available at JBIMS Mumbai official website www.jbims.edu/

JBIMS to conduct own counseling round
Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) Mumbai has also revised its admission policy for MMS 2017-19 batch. The institute will conduct its own counselling process instead of participating and finalizing the admissions through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2017 conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra.  JBIMS, Mumbai has announced that it will conduct its own final selection round “For the year 2017-19, JBIMS will admit students based on the process conducted by the institute and not through the Common Admissions Process carried out by DTE.”

JBIMS was awarded the status of autonomous B school in 2014 and in admission 2015, it did not participate in DTE-CAP round and conducted its own admission process. But in 2016 admission to JBIMS was again finalized through DTE-CAP and the candidates who registered and participated in DTE-CAP 2016 irrespective of the scores obtained in any of the National Level MBA entrance tests were awarded the opportunity to explore admission in JBIMS, Mumbai as per their merit position.

Only MAH CET 2017 & CAT 2016 acceptable to JBIMS now
If you have not appeared in CAT 2016 or do not appear in MAH-CET 2017 on March 4 & 5, 2017, you are not eligible for admission to MMS 2017-19 at JBIMS Mumbai. You cannot explore admission opportunity at JBIMS with your score in XAT 2016, CMAT 2017, MAT 2016-17, ATMA 2017.

Changing its admission process again after a gap of one year for MMS 2017-19, JBIMS has clarified that qualifying exams for admission to MMS 2017-19 are CAT 2016 / MH-CET 2017 for domestic candidates and for foreign nationals and NRIs the qualifying exam is GMAT taken on or after Jan 2013.

JBIMS admission eligibility & application fee
You need to apply online only when the application process opens in January 2017. For general category candidates (Outside Maharashtra candidates as well candidates from Maharashtra State), J&K migrant candidates, Foreign nationals and NRI/PIO/ Children of Indian Workers in gulf countries candidates the application fee is Rs. 1500/-. For candidates of backward class categories the application fee is Rs 1000/-

The application-processing fee needs to be paid at the time of submitting the online application. The candidate can pay through DD/Wire transfer, Debit card/Credit card payment gateway, for which the service charges, as per rules, shall be applicable in addition to the application form processing fees. No other mode of payment shall be permitted.

You must have secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging Maharashtra State only) in Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
Candidates in the final year of their bachelor’s degree can also apply. The qualifying acceptable MBA entrance exams for domestic candidates are CAT 2016 and MH-CET 2017.

JBIMS Intake
Total number of seats available for MMS admission for 2017-19, according to JBIMS is 120. However there were 139 students in the batch 2016-18 at JBIMS.

The 2 years MSc Finance course has an intake of 30 students.

Fee structure
2 years MMS programme fee is Rs.2.05 lakhs at JBIMS, Mumbai. The fee structure is under revision.

Student Accommodation at JBIMS
JBIMS students get hostel facilities in the hostels of University of Mumbai, but these hostel accommodations are limited to Outside Mumbai students.

JBIMS: High RoI B-school
JBIMS has a track record of 100% placement with high salary packages. Popularly known as CEO factory, JBIMS Placement 2016 saw substantial increase in average placement package to Rs.18.13 lakhs from Rs. 17.42 lakhs in 2015. Around 42% placement offers were made by BFSI recruiters and 50% of the batch was offered PPOs and PPIs. Entire batch of 119 MMS 2014-16 students at JBIMS got placed in the shortest period.

JBIMS Faculty drawn from top corporate & industry
Education at JBIMS is not limited to conventional class room experience. It is coordinated with vast industrial exposure also.

JBIMS draws maximum number of visiting faculty from top corporate, industry and other such areas that provide more practical knowledge than only theoretical understanding. There are around 55+  such visiting faculty members who impart the necessary management education to the students of JBIMS. The permanent or core faculty members at JBIMS are 8 in number.

For the batch 2016-18, JBIMS Mumbai considered admission of students on the basis of their scores in MAH CET 2016; CAT 2015; XAT 2016; CMAT 2016; MAT and ATMA. Many lucky high percentilers with 99 and above score could grab the admission at JBIMS. This year only MAH CET 2017 and CAT 2016 test takers who score high will be shortlisted by JBIMS.

MMS is the flagship course of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), conducted as a university department of University of Mumbai. It is a two year full time post graduate degree course in management. Started as early as 1965, the course has been modified continually and appropriately to suit the contemporary corporate world needs and has been able to nurture prominent leaders of the same.
