Newly established Greater Noida based School of Management of Gautam Buddha University is going to conduct its own entrance exam -- Graduate Proficiency Test on June 1, 2008.

Speaking to MBAUniverse.com, Prof R S Nirjar, Vice Chancellor of Gautam Buddha University, said, "The pattern of Graduate Proficiency Test will be similar to Common Aptitude Test (CAT), IIFT Admission Test (IIFT) and other management entrance exams".
 
Prof Nirjar also shared with MBAUniverse.com the batch size and other details of the admission process. "The batch size of MBA programme will be around 120 for the year 2008-2010. The students will be selected on the basis of merit. After the written test, we will conduct an interview which will test the communication skills, attitude and other important things in the selected candidates", informed Prof Nirjar.
 
The MBA programme will commence in August 2008. "We got acceptance to launch this programme in January and we are now ready to start the MBA programme within a short time of 6-7 months, which can be a record in India", said Prof Nirjar.
 
Application forms for the exam will be available till April 19, 2008.The entrance exam will be conducted in 12 cities including Noida, Delhi, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Indore , Jaipur, Kolkata, Ranchi, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.
 
Gautam Buddha University, established by U.P. Act (9) of 2002 as passed by U.P. Legislature is being funded by Greater Noida Development Authority and Noida Development Authority, and is supported by Government of Uttar Pradesh. Gautam Buddha University Management Education Programme with specialization in Finance, Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Marketing and Retail Management, is being developed in line with leading Business Schools in Europe, Canada and USA.
 
When asked what is the focus of its MBA programme, said Prof Nirjar, "It is obvious that higher education in management is the demand of today's youth as well as industry. We will offer management education to give skills and knowledge to build students for the industry requirements. We are going to make students industry ready".
 
While sharing the highlights of its first MBA programme, Prof Nirjar said, "Apart from the specialization in finance, human resources, marketing and others, our MBA programme aims to teach and prepare the students with building personal discipline, etiquettes, skills which is necessary for the corporate world".
