FMS Delhi Admission 2017: Shortlist announced; Female candidates get edge; PI round begins April 10; extempore replaces GD

FMS Delhi has announced the shortlisting for Personal Interview for admission to MBA Programme 2017-18. In total, 2160 candidates have been called for Personal Interview round for 200 seats at FMS Delhi.
Shortlisting has been done basis of "Composite Scores", which were computed by giving weightage of 40%, 30%, and 30% to the scores of VA/RC, DI/LR, and QA Sections. Female candidates were given additional 3 Marks.

Shortlisting has been done basis of “Composite Scores” of candidates. Minimum cut off for general candidates is 52.986. According to FMS announcement, “the Composite Score has been computed by giving weightage of 40%, 30%, and 30% to the scores of VA/RC, DI/LR, and QA Sections respectively as provided by the CAT Centre for the CAT 2016 Examination for candidates who registered with FMS.”

In order to increase the diversity of the batch, female candidates have been given extra marks. “While computing the Composite Score, female candidates have been given an additional 3 Marks,” says FMS announcement.

The Personal Interview of the shortlisted candidates for MBA Programme is scheduled to be held from April 10 to April 17, 2017. Shortlisted candidates are required to fill-up the proforma, available on the FMS website (www.fms.edu) for appearing in Personal Interview. The duly filled-in proforma should reach FMS by March 17th, 2017.

FMS Delhi has also decided to scrap the Group Discussion (GD) from its final selection round. Now the Personal Interview (PI) round has only 2 components- Extempore speech of 2-3 minutes just before beginning of personal interview; and the personal interview which may have a duration from 5 to 15 minutes.

FMS Delhi is a very high ROI B school with a low fee structure and high placement packages.

The annual tuition fee payable to Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi is approximately Rs. 10,000 for MBA (FT) programme. Total fee for 2 years MBA (Full time) programme at FMS including some other charges does not exceed Rs. 25,000.

Placement record of the FMS is excellent. In placement season 2016 average compensation at FMS Delhi increased to Rs.20.5 lakhs per annum, showing a rising trend in the MBA job market. The highest domestic compensation also increased to Rs.66 lakhs in placement 2016.
