IIM Bangalore EPGP Ranked among top 50 in FT Global MBA Ranking 2017; shoots up 13 spots to occupy 49th place

IIM Bangalore’s one-year fulltime Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) has been ranked among the top 50 in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking 2017 released recently. IIM Bangalore’s programme has shot up 13 spots to be placed at No 49 in the FT ranking. The other management schools in the top 50 include INSEAD, Stanford Graduate School of Business, Harvard Business School, MIT: Sloan, University of California at Berkeley: Haas among others.

The ranking is based on surveys of the business schools and their alumni. Programmes are assessed according to the career progression of alumni, the school’s idea generation and the diversity of students and faculty. This ranking features the world’s best 100 full-time MBA programmes.

Speaking on the achievement the then Director Incharge, IIM Bangalore Professor R. Srinivasan, said: “The credit goes to all faculty colleagues who, as part of the EPGP and Admissions Interview committees, recruit a high-calibre cohort for the programme and as professors put them through a demanding learning experience in their course offerings.” The new permanent director of IIM Bangalore Prof  G. Raghuram was appointed subsequently.

Professor U. Dinesh Kumar, Chairperson, EPGP added: “The EPGP Office ensures a high level of support to all students throughout the programme year while the Career Development Services (CDS) strives to match every student's expectations with recruiters’ specific demands.”

Professor Vasanthi Srinivasan, Chairperson, Alumni Relations, said: “The Alumni Office has been continuously engaging with EPGP alums and connecting them with the larger IIMB alumni network, and their efforts over the years are now paying off.”

A total of 156 schools took part in the 2017 edition of this ranking. All participating schools meet the FT’s entry criteria, including being accredited by EQUIS or the AACSB.

One of the top 3 business schools in India and known for public policy education, IIM Bangalore has also been ranked #1 in the NIRF 2016 rankings of Government of India. It is the only Indian B-school in GNAM list. IIM Bangalore has been accredited by EQUIS the international accreditation agency and is the first B-School in Asia to sign an agreement with Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) to distribute faculty teaching cases. IIM Bangalore has produced leaders, entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, artists, writers , managers who collectively have a wealth of knowledge and experience.  Some of the prominent alumni of IIM Bangalore include academicians such as Aswat Damodaran, Raghavendra Rau, Karan Bajaj, great author and film maker Nila Madhab PandaK. Radhakrishnan, Chairman of ISRO and business executives like Ravi Subramanian and Sameer Suneja.
