MAT 2017 exam scores will be considered for admission by more than 700 MBA colleges comprising 313 management institutes appearing in AIMA list and 400 MBA colleges of Maharashtra

AIMA has opened registration and application process for May MAT 2017. Management Aptitude Test (MAT) exam in May will be held both as paper based (PBT) and computer based (CBT) test. While MAT in PBT form will be held in a single session on May 7, the MAT in CBT form will be held from May 13 onwards. Candidates can apply online as well as offline and the last date of submission of MAT exam application is April 28, 2017. The last date for sale of offline forms for MAT 2017 May exam has been restricted by AIMA to April 25, 2017.

AIMA has published a list of 313 MBA colleges who will accept May MAT 2017 scores for admission to their MBA/PGDM 2017-19 batch. Besides, MAT 2017 scores would also be accepted by 400 MBA colleges in Maharashtra for admission to their 40000 seats through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2017. Accordingly, MAT 2017 exam scores will be considered for admission by more than 700 MBA colleges comprising 313 management institutes appearing in AIMA list and 400 MBA colleges of Maharashtra

MAT 2017 May exam scores will remain valid for 1 year. This implies that candidates will be able to apply for next year MBA/PGDM programmes also on the basis of their May MAT 2017 exam scores. 

Candidates exploring admission in MBA/PGDM 2017-19 batch can encash the opportunity to do MBA by registering and applying for May MAT 2017 exam.

MAT is a national level entrance test for admission to PGDM institutes where thousands of the aspirants test their skills. The test is conducted by AIMA (All India Management Association). Usually there are 4 MAT tests in a year viz February, May, September and December. May.

MAT2017: Know the May exam Pattern
May MAT 2017 exam will be an objective type test with multiple-choice Questions (MCQs). The test will be divided among 5 key sections on which questions will be formed. The sections are - Language Comprehension, Mathematical skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Indian and Global Environment.

Each of the 5 sections will have 40 questions making it a total of 200 questions to be solved in 150 minutes.

Take MAT Mock to prepare & score high
MAT exam awards equal weightage to each of the 5 sectionsbut the last section on Indian & Global environment is not included in score calculation.MAT 2017 MAY exam would award scores keeping the Indian and Global environment section out. Hence the scores are to be awarded out of 160 marks and accordingly the test takers will get their merit position where their scores are sent by AIMA.

Candidates can buy the MAT 2017 exam forms from the designated AIMA Nodal centres across India. Candidates have the option of online registration also. By Demand draft
Candidates can obtain crossed Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 1400/- (One thousand four hundred only) in favour of ‘All India Management Association’ payable at Delhi from any Bank. Then they can register online at AIMA website. You should fill up the registration form alongwith the DD details.

Offline: Pay cash
Candidates can obtain Form with MAT exam Bulletin/CD against cash payment of Rs 1400/- from listed Nodal Centres of AIMA OR from AIMA, New Delhi.

MAT exam scores to cater to 700 B schools
Apart from other All India MBA/PGDM entrance exams like CAT/XAT/CMAT, MAT is also a standardised test. The exam is being administered since 1988 to facilitate B-Schools to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a National Level test in 2003. Any B-School-national or international can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates.

AIMA claims MAT as the largest test of its kind in the nation.

More than 700 MBA colleges across India are supposed to accept MAT 2017 May exam scores. On February 18, 2013 Hon’ble Supreme Court of India allowed the petition to continue MAT as an entrance test to PGDM institutes.

After the announcement that JBIMS Mumbai will offer admission through DTE-Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2017, the top MBA college is also expected to accept MAT 2017 exam scores.

Testing window: MAT 2017
Test dates for Paper pencil mode and for Computer based test in May MAT 2017 would be differen. Candidates can opt for either of the two but will not be allowed to appear in both type of exams.

Paper pencil mode- MAT 2017 May exam in Paper pencil mode will be conducted on Sunday May 7, 2017. The test will be of 2½ hours (150 minutes) and will be conducted from 10 AM to 12.30 PM.

Computer Based online test- Candidates opting for CBT online test will be required to appear in the test from Saturday May 13, 2017 onwards. The test will be held in different time slots subject to availability. According to AIMA ‘If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is limited and can be accommodated in a single day; the test will be completed on 13 May 2017 itself.’  It implies that in case there is more number of candidates the test may be conducted in the forthcoming days as well.

51 centres for paper pen test
Out of 63 test cities in India and abroad, MAT 2017 May exam in computer based test form will be conducted only at 12 centres. Rest of the test centres will have the facility of paper pen based test. Besides, the venues for paper pencil mode test and computer based tests will also be different from one another.

Admit card for MAT 2017: April 29 onwards
All the registered candidates both for Paper Based and Computer Based Test can download their Admit Card from AIMA website from April 29, 2017 onwards.  Specific Admit Card is generated both for the candidates opted for the Paper Based Test and for the Computer Based Test. No separate Admit Card will be issued and sent to a candidate.

However, the candidates shall have to submit their admission applications before the closing date in the respective B-school if they are desirous to pursue the management course for the 2017-19 batch. Earlier these B-schools despite accepting the MAT May scores used to consider them for the ensuing academic session as the admission process in many of them stood closed by the time result for the exam was declared.
