Your Academics improve MBA admission chances
Your consistent good academic profile from class 10 to graduation adds to your MBA admission chances along with high CAT/MAT scores in top B schools. Good MBA colleges across the country consider high percentage of marks secured in matriculation, class 12 and graduation as an indicator that you are studious and a consistent achiever. A percentage above 80+ coupled with good CAT/XAT/MAT score is considered good to improve your admission chances.

Arts, Commerce background: Good chances for MBA admission
If you are from commerce, humanities, arts or science back ground you may get some bonus marks in final admission process at a good B school. There no additional marks awarded to Engineering students. More B schools are worried about maximum class representation with engineering candidates. Many highly ranked MBA colleges have started preferring non engineering graduates for admission.

2-3 years Work Ex: Higher admission chances
Ratio of candidates with work experience in MBA admission to good MBA colleges is increasing year after year. Although still more freshers get admission in MBA/PGDM programmes in all the B-schools still a good representation of candidates having at least 1-2 years of work experience is considered good to have better and enriched class profile. MBA colleges therefore also award weightage to the candidates with work experience in their MBA admission final round.

Coherent writing & communication skill
If you have good writing and speaking communication skills, you may stand out in the final admission round in the MBA college in the GD-PI-WAT round.
