Great Lakes, Chennai gets NBA Accreditation: Qualifies for grant of equivalence by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai has been Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and qualifies for grant of equivalence by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

After getting two International Accreditations of SAQS and AMBA, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai has now also been awarded NBA Accreditation. National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has awarded the accreditation to the 2 year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) Program at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai with the period of validity for two academic years (2016 – 2017 & 2017 – 2018) effective from 10th March 2017.

The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) is a part of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Act for periodic evaluations of technical and management institutions & professional programmes basis according to specified norms and standards recommended by AICTE council. The expert committee from NBA visited Great Lakes, Chennai during the month of December 17 – 18, 2016 for evaluation. Post the review, as per guidelines, eligibility and criteria, the board granted the candidature for the two academic years.

Great Lakes was earlier awarded the International SAQS (South Asian Quality Assurance System) accreditation also. SAQS is an international system of strategic audit and accreditation and is a globally benchmarked system for Mentoring, Quality Improvement, Quality Assurance and Accreditation.

Great Lakes Chennai has become one of the few leading B-Schools in India to have earned NBA, SAQS and AMBA accreditations.

Announcing the news, Dr. Bala V Balachandran, Founder, Dean and Chairman, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chancellor – Great Lakes International University, said, “With AMBA and SAQs accreditation in the past, NBA approval is another feather on the cap for Great Lakes, Chennai. This not only ensures the two year program with quality assurance and global recognition, but also the additional student intake would enhance our diversity factor.”

Adding further, Dr Bala said “This also makes the course qualify for grant of equivalence by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The Expert Committee will hereon review the program every year that will enable to extend/ renew the accreditation”
