Are IIM Nagpur, IIM Amritsar and IIM Sirmaur bidding farewell to their very 1st PGP 2015-17 batch without concluding final placement?
Fate of the 118 students would be hanging in air as they would be exploring the suitable placements on their own with their PGDM diplomas awarded by these IIMs

IIM Nagpur, IIM Amritsar and IIM Sirmaur, the 3 of the 7 newest IIMs are bidding farewell to their very 1st PGP 2015-17 batch but there is now news whether they have concluded their final placements 2017. MBAUniverse.com has remained in touch with the newest IIMs but so far the final placement statistics is concerned, none of the newest IIMs have been able to share the same. There is no mention of final placement in the speech of Prof. L S Murty  Director IIM Nagpur on the occasion of Convocation 2017 held on April 14, 2017.

The 3 prestigious IIMs decided to celebrate their maiden Annual Convocation 2017 for the 1st batch 2015-17 and are probably content with the summer placements offered to their 118 students. Now the fate of the 118 students would be hanging in air as they would be exploring the suitable placements on their own with their PGDM diplomas awarded by these IIMs.

No final Placement to the Small 1st batch? 2nd batch is larger
There are 53 students at IIM Nagpur in the 1st PGP 2015-17 batch and 45 students at IIM Amritsar while IIM Sirmaur has 20 students in its 1st PGP 2015-17 batch.  The newest IIMs started functioning from the academic year 2015-17 and at present there are 2 batches studying in each of these IIMs, namely 2015-17 and 2016-18 and the next batch for 2017-19 is about to be offered admission in a few days.

Ironically, if the 1st batch despite its small size has remained without final placement and none of the 3 newest IIMs have been able to conclude their final placement 2017 till date, the obvious worry of the students studying in the 2nd PGP batch 2016-18, which has a larger size, is what would be their fate when the final placement 2018 is held. There are 7 newest IIMs and none of these 7 newest IIMs have been able to publish the final placement data on their site till now although they have increased their batch sizes tremendously.

Only 3 newest IIMs share Summer Placements
IIM Amritsar, IIM Nagpur, IIM Visakhapatnam are the only 3 among the 7 newest IIMs who have shared the summer placement data for the PGP 2016-18 batch. Other 4 IIMs namely IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Sambalpur and IIM Sirmaur are yet to share their summer placements for 2016-18 batch.

4 IIMs without Summer Placements?
IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Sambalpur and IIM Sirmaur do not appear to have completed their summer placements 2017 till now and hence there is no Summer Placement report 2017 for the PGP 2016-18 batch on their respective sites.

The final placements are awaited at all the 7 newest IIMs to justify their very existence and probably a much deeper industry interaction is required by the newest IIMs to well organize their final placement process.

While these newest IIMs are increasing their batch sizes, the final placements remain a cause of worry among the students.

Usually, IIMs celebrate the annual convocation after their final placements are over. All the 3 IIMs are mentored by top IIMs of India. IIM Nagpur is mentored by IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Amritsar is mentored by IIM Kozhikode and IIM Sirmaur is mentored by IIM Lucknow.
