Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Delhi had announced the shortlist of 2160 candidates for extempore and PI round for MBA 2017-19 batch for an intake of 216 students. The Extempore & PI round that began on April 10 continued till April 17, 2017.

Post CAT 2016 result declaration, FMS Delhi preferred to declare the shortlist much later than IIMs and other top B-schools. Almost all the old IIMs and other B schools like SPJIMR, MDI, IMI, IMT who finalise their admission on the basis of CAT scores have already completed their PI round and the final admission offers have started flowing in.

Quickest Admission Result

In contrast to other top rated B schools like IIMs who take around 1 month from the date of completion of GDPI to announce the final admission list, FMS Delhi announced the final admission list in less than 10 hours from completion of the final admission round.

FMS Delhi does the commendable job by declaring the final admission result for MBA full time in the fastest mode as is evident from the fact that PI round at FMS got over on April 17 and the final result is available with the candidates on the same day with their names in the list. It has been the long tradition of FMS Delhi to declare the final admission result on the same day of PI round.

216 finally selected

Out of the 2160 short listed candidates for PI session the lucky 216 have figured in FMS final admission list. The wait for FMS Delhi MBA aspirants for final admission 2017 has turned out to be pleasant as the final admission results are available even before the top B schools could announce their final results.

FMS has different shortlisting criteria now

Various changes in the shortlisting criteria for final admission round at FMS Delhi have been made as weightage to sectional scores was also awarded in the shortlisting.

As against the shortlisting criteria adopted by FMS Delhi earlier, a different process of shortlisting has been arrived on the basis of composite scores awarded with sectional weightage to the candidates. The Composite Score was computed by giving weightage of 40%, 30%, and 30% to the scores of VARC, DI/LR, and QA Sections respectively as provided by the CAT Centre for the CAT 2016 Examination for candidates who registered with FMS. For example: Composite Score = ∑(Score in Section * Weightage)/Max Marks for the Section.

In earlier years only overall CAT percentile used to be the sole criterion to shortlist the candidates for PI round.

Faculty of Management Studies(FMS), India’s one of the top rated B school is a part of University of Delhi, a Central University which does not exercise any state level reservation criteria. The learning experience at FMS is as good as in the top rated B schools of India and the expenses in the form of fee and accommodation are as low as Rs.25000/- only. FMS Delhi has the legacy of 100% placement with a high average salary package compatible to the top IIMs of the country. The Placement 2017 at FMS Delhi has reported the average compensation of Rs.20.60 lakhs per annum.
