MBA seat allocation formula through DTE-CAP 2017 for admission to MBA/MMS 2017-19 in Maharashtra MBA colleges has been announced by Government of Maharashtra.

 

The decision taken by Government of Maharashtra in regard to Allocation of Seats for admissions to the Professional Diploma, Under Graduate and Post Graduate Degree Courses including MBA/MMS 2017-19 courses into the Government and Aided Professional Educational Institutions has been released vide letter ref no. TEM-2016/Pra.Kra,473/16)/Tanshi-4 dated April 25, 2017 and is duly signed by Dr Kiran Patil, Dy Secretary, Government of Maharashtra.

Schedule VI of the document specifies the MBA seat allocation in different type of MBA colleges namely, autonomous, Government, Government aided, University department. The seat allocation schedule clarifies the MMS seat allocation through CAP round 2017 for Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Juhu, SNDT University meant for women candidate only.

100% seats in JBIMS Mumbai through DTE-CAP 2017

 Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) Mumbai , the highly ranked MBA college of India, is an autonomous B-school which runs 2 years full time MMS course. According to the above schedule, admission to all the seats in JBIMS will be through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2017 to be conducted in the last week of May 2017 by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra.

 

JBIMS, Mumbai is the top B-school of Maharashtra with low fee and high placements. The intake in JBIMS MMS (MBA) programme is 120 seats. Out of 120 seats, admission to 15% seats have been allocated for All India Candidates in JBIMS, Mumbai. Accordingly, there are 18 seats available for admission to All India candidates.   

 

Since low scores between 145 to 136 in MAHCET 2017 have been awarded highest percentile of 99.99 to only 11 candidates, it is expected that scores as low as 130 could get you admission in JBIMS Mumbai through DTE-CAP round 2017.

 

MBA Seat allocation in University Departments & Non-Autonomous B-schools

MBA seat allocation in the Government or Government aided B-schools; University departments of management except minority institutions has also announced 15% intake for All India candidates. Besides, there will be 70% seats for Home University (HU) candidates and rest 15% seats will be available for other than home university (OHU) candidates of Maharashtra State. The admissions will be facilitated through DTE CAP round 2017 in all such MBA colleges.

 

Accordingly admission in all the Government & Govt aided, University departments of Management will be finalized during the DTE CAP round and the candidates after getting the admission offer will have to report to the assigned institute by the last date to make fee payment.

 

10000 MBA seats for All India candidates  

44000 MBA/MMS seats and 11000 PGDM seats are available for admission in MBA colleges in Maharashtra through CET-Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2017 counselling. Out of this huge number of intake, around 10000 seats in Maharashtra MBA colleges are reserved for All India Candidates (Outside Maharashtra State candidates).

There are around 400 MBA colleges of Maharashtra and all these MBA colleges will offer admission through DTE – CAP round 2017. Accordingly, the final admission and allotment of MBA seat in JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA, N L Dalmiya, Dy Patil among other top MBA colleges will be based on Centralized Admission Process (CAP) to be conducted by DTE Maharashtra in the month of May 2017.

DTE-CAP 2017 round: Other acceptable exams

Apart from MAHCET 2017 exam scores, you are eligible to participate in DTE-CAP 2017 with other MBA entrance exam scores also. It is not necessary to appear in MAHCET exam but you can also participate in Centralized Admission Process (CAP) 2017 with other exam scores. The registration and application for CAP 2017 is to open in a few days time from now, preferably in the 1st or 2nd week of May, 2017. 

 

The exam scores through which you can get the merit position in CAP round are – MAHCET 2017; CAT 2016; MAT Feb 2017 (If May MAT 2017 result is declared on time and CAP does not begin by then, candidates may be allowed to update their scores for CAP round); XAT 2017; CMAT 2017; GMAT; ATMA.

The CAP is the counseling process and is the final selection round for allotment of seats in the Maharashtra MBA colleges. Your MAHCET exam scores or other exam scores will award you a merit position in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for all the 400+ MBA colleges including JBIMS, SIMSREE, N L Dalmiya, K J Somaiya, PUMBA among others.

 

On the basis of your merit position you will be allotted a seat in the MBA college in order of your preference which you have filled up for CAP round.
