AIMA MAT admit card for MAT 2017 May CBT exam has been out and the candidates appearing in May MAT 2017 online computer based test can download their MAT admit card from AIMA website.

MAT May 2017 exam date for computer based test is May 13, and there are around 700 B-schools who are supposed to accept the May MAT exam 2017 scores. Apart from 313 Management Institutes displayed on AIMA site, there are 400 B-schools including JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA, K J Somaiya among others in Maharashtra who will also offer admission through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) on the basis of MAT 2017 exam scores.   

 

MAT 2017 computer based test (CBT) is the second option provided by AIMA for the candidates to appear in online MAT on May13. No candidate can appear in On-line test if he/she has already appeared in paper based test on May 7.

 

MAT 2017 result, both for paper based and computer based test is proposed to be announced in the last week of May. AIMA has not announced the exact date of declaring the MAT 2017 May exam result but it is expected that the MAT 2017 May exam result will be declared sometime in the last week of May from 23rd to 26th May.

 

MAT 2017 May computer based test will be held in different time slots subject to availability. According to AIMA If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is limited and can be accommodated in a single day; the test will be completed on 13 May 2017 itself.’ It means that in case there is more number of candidates the test may be conducted in subsequent dates after May 13 also. The computer based test will be conducted at different venues than the ones where paper pencil mode test was conducted.

 

With only 3 days left to appear in Computer based MAT to be held on May 13, 2017 at 12 test centres in the country, it is high time that you get ready for the MAT 2017 in CBT format which will also have similar pattern and will also consist of same number of 5 sections and questions as appeared in paper based MAT exam held on May 7, 2017.

 

The score obtained both in Paper based and computer based tests will be awarded on the same evaluation pattern and will be scaled. The scaled score will be converted to percentile and the MBA colleges accepting MAT 2017 exam scores will consider the sectional as well as overall percentile score for admission 2017-19 batch. 

 

MAT 2017 May CBT exam pattern

MAT 2017 in computer based form will be divided in 5 sections with 40 MCQs in each. Each question will carry 1 mark and ¼ mark will be the penalty for each wrong answer. The test has to be solved in 150 minutes.

 

This 1 mark will be scaled to 5 and the total score will be awarded out of 800 marks for 4 sections. The scaled scores and percentile score will be calculated only for the 4 sections and the scores for 5th section of Indian and Global Environment (GK) will be awarded separately.

 

Accordingly, less than 1 minute is available before the MAT test takers to answer each of the 200 questions. You need to manage time and maximise the attempts.

Expected type of questions in MAT 2017 May CBT

Although the level of difficulty in MAT 2017 May CBT exam is not proposed to go higher than it was in Paper based test, you should practice more on following topics

 

Language comprehension

This section is expected to have 10 questions based on vocabulary comprising synonyms-antonyms, jumbled words and picking odd man out of them, inserting correct words to fill in the blanks.

 

There are expected to be 4 or 5 short comprehension passages followed by 4 questions each. Other questions may be based on jumbled paragraphs, core grammar usage, summary/main thought essence of paragraphs. Questions are expected to be moderately difficult and are supposed to be answered in 30 minutes.

 

Mathematical Skills

Expect 26 questions based on Arithmetic like Percentages, Profit and Loss, Time and Work, Averages etc in MAT May 2017 CBT exam. The difficulty level may remain moderate but a few questions may be a bit more time consuming. Candidates with more practice will be able to do them well in time.  Those who attempt this section well may expect a higher percentile.

 

Intelligence and critical reasoning

This section in MAT May 2017 CBT exam is expected to consist of questions on Assertions reasons, Family tree, analogies, Direction, series, cause & effect, calendar, distribution, assertions.  The section is expected to remain doable with moderate level of difficulty.

 

Data analysis and Sufficiency

You may expect 70% questions on Data Interpretation in this section in MAT 2017 May CBT exam. Pie charts, bar diagrams, charts, line graph, data comparison may remain the main topics on which questions can be based. Most of the questions are expected to be of moderate difficulty level while a few will be more time consuming.

 

This section needs consistent and intelligent practice on the sets of questions as well as individual questions. Any laxity may leave you behind your peers.

 

Indian and Global environment

The 40 questions in this section would not count for calculation of percentile in MAT 2017 May CBT exam and the total score will be calculated on the basis of other 4 sections. However this section is still an integral part of the test and one has to score well in it as the marks will be considered at the final admission round in the B school.

 

Questions in this section may be based on conventional GK, business and economics, current affairs. Not more than 10-15 minutes should be devoted to answer this section.

 

Surprise element in MAT May 2017 CBT exam

No doubt that the same pattern with 5 sections will appear on the computer screens of MAT 2017 test takers on May 13, 2017, Computer Based MAT may have different difficulty level and candidates may also expect surprise elements, as such it is advisable to revise which has not appeared in paper pencil mode but is covered in MAT syllabus.

 

Score cards for MAT 2017 May exam are expected to be made available by AIMA in the last week of May 2017. The score card can be downloaded from the AIMA website. Provision of getting a duplicate score card for the test from AIMA is also available.

 

MAT is a national level entrance test for admission to MBA/MMS/PGDM institutes where thousands of the aspirants test their skills. The test is conducted by AIMA (All India Management Association). Usually there are 4 MAT tests in a year viz February, May, September and December.  MAT scores are considered for admission by number of management institutes in Maharashtra also. The admission process is through DTE-CAP round. The registration and application for DTE CAP 2017 will open on May 15 with a registration fee of Rs.1000/-
