Accordingly, good admission options could be found in Maharashtra B schools.

The absentee does not include the candidates who did not register and attended the CAP 2017 despite appearing in MAHCET 2017.

If not interested- check for better admission options
Out of 55000+ seats in Maharashtra B-schools, more than 25% seats are still lying vacant in MBA/MMS/PGDM programmes after completion of all the CAP rounds 2017 by DTE Maharashtra. Those who preferred to remain absent, have not or will not like to take admission and deposit fee in the allotted B school in CAP round, still have good options to take admission in their preferred B school as now the B schools could offer admission on their own to the applicants as per DTE Maharashtra norms.

Vacant seats offer good MBA option
The top rankers get the best B-schools in Maharashtra, while others do not find the B-schools allotted to them worthy to study. These candidates wait for the vacant seats after CAP round and try to search out better institute level options.

While the 100% seats are allotted through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) rounds in Maharashtra Government or Government aided management institutes, University Departments, University managed institutes, 80% seats in unaided private B-schools are also allotted through CAP only.

Remaining absent in CAP, non confirming of admission at the institute by the candidates due to one or other reason of preference, thousands of MBA/MMS/PGDM seats go vacant in Maharashtra B schools which are later tried to be filled up at the institute level.

Earlier also there were more than 30% seats remaining vacant in 50% B schools in Maharashtra after completion of the CAP round.

DTE conducted the MAHCET 2017 written exam on March 4 & 5 and the result for the exam was declared on March 10. The highest score obtained was 145 marks out of 200 marks. The candidates who have scored between 130 and 145 must have easily got into JBIMS.

By the time MAHCET 2017 result was out, most of the candidates decided on the basis of their other exam scores which B school they should go for. By the time Centralised Admission Process started other good B schools in other states closed their admission process, so many others prefer to prepare again and get a better B-school next year.

There are number of good B-schools in Maharashtra offering quality education and good placement, more number of candidates aspire for admission in these B schools but the many others who may not be getting support from the regulator may not be doing so well.

There are still good options open to the candidates in Maharashtra B schools including MET IOM, ITM, IESMCRC, DSIMS, ASM-IPS, ASMs IBMR, MITSoB, KBS, VESIMS, UBS, IIMS, BITM, BIMM, BIMHRD, ISB&M among others where candidates can apply direct to get admission.
