Gateway to NMIMS, Mumbai and 19 other B-schools in India, NMAT 2017 registration has opened on July 4. NMAT 2017 is a unique exam in the sense that no other MBA entrance test offers the facility to retake the exam 3 times to maximise your score and get into the desired B-school.

In 2015 the ownership of NMAT was acquired by GMAC and as such since then the NMAT or NMAT 2017 this year is known as NMAT by GMAC. NMAT by GMAC 2017 has introduced many aspirant friendly changes in the NMAT registration process, choice of NMAT test centres, and NMAT registration fee payment process.

The registration for NMAT 2017 (Now, NMAT by GMAC) will close on October 3, 2017. NMAT by GMAC will be the official entrance exam to enter SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute Of Management Studies (School Of Business Management), apart from 19 other universities and B schools in India offering MBA/PGDM programmes 2018-20. Approximately 70000 aspirants are expected to appear in computer based NMAT by GMAC to be held in 75 days test window from October 5 to December 18, 2017 with the opportunity available with the test taker to maximise the score by making 3 attempts for NMAT 2017 (Now NMAT by GMAC).

Following are the key aspirant friendly features of NMAT by GMAC that favour the test takers and provide an opportunity to maximise the scores in the exam.

3 Attempts exam
If an NMAT 2017 aspirant is not satisfied with his performance and thinks that he/she can improve the scores by taking NMAT 2017 again, the test can be scheduled for ‘Retake’ 3 times with a gap of 15 days.

The scheduling to retake the NMAT 2017 will begin on October 6, 2017 and will continue till December 15, 2017.  Candidates have an option of retaking NMAT by GMAC up to 3 maximum attempts, including “no shows” in NMAT 2017. It implies that ‘No shows’ will be considered attempts.

Once your NMAT 2017 registration for the retake is complete you will receive an email with authorization to schedule the retake for NMAT by GMAC. The registration for retake of NMAT by GMAC also begins on October 6 and will close on December 14, 2017.

You can schedule the NMAT retake test on a date 15 or more days after the most recent date of attempt. This means you will have to wait at least 15 calendar days before you can appear for a retake attempt in NMAT by GMAC. You can schedule your test any time during the retake scheduling window (subject to real time availability). You will be able to select any slot that is a minimum of 24 hours later than the time you carry out the scheduling transaction.

It is important to note that the registration for NMAT 2017 (Now NMAT by GMAC) should be finalised during the registration window open upto October 3, 2017 to become eligible for the NMAT retake exam.

75 days Test window with self scheduling option
NMAT 2017 aspirants have opportunity to boost their confidence level and can schedule their test according to their convenience during the longest test window of 75 days (Oct 5, 2017 to Dec 18, 2017). The aim is to provide candidates with a convenience to choose a test date, based on their comfort level.

Candidates have the choice to select the date and time of the test in a real time mode, based on seats availability at each of the centres.

NMAT 2017 exam scheduling started
NMAT by GMAC started the scheduling process to take the test from July 4, 2017, a day after opening the registration for the test. The scheduling of NMAT 2017 will remain open till October 16, 2017 according to the convenience of the aspirants.

In case of any inconvenience anticipated on the scheduled date to take NMAT 2017, the test taker can reschedule the test. The process of rescheduling also began on July 4, 2017 and will continue till December 15, 2017.

NMAT 2017 registration process
The online registration process for NMAT by GMAC has added features this year. Candidates can register for the NMAT by GMAC exam from mobile. You can register anytime from anywhere. However, candidates will have to register for the exam and separately they will have to go to the respective school/university website and complete their application process. The registration process will close on October 3, 2017. The facility of NMAT 2017 registration with payment of late registration fee will be available from October 4 to October 16, 2017. NMAT 2017 registration fee is Rs. 1800/-.

More payment options have been added to pay the NMAT by GMAC 2017 exam fee. This year the candidates will have an additional choice to pay the NMAT 2017 exam fees through UPI (Unified payment Interface) as an additional method to pay for the registration fees along with the credit cards, debit cards, net banking, 12 mobile wallets.

7 Programmes included in Registration fee
Candidates appearing in NMAT 2017 can choose to select the list of programmes they want to send their scores to before or after taking the exam. Up to 7 programmes are included in the registration fee.

Result Review
The NMAT 2017 test taker’s scores will be declared in a span of 4-5 weeks from the NMAT by GMAC test delivery. Whether you should apply to a B-school or retake the test, this can be decided after reviewing results. Candidates can view the results and then decide to apply to business school or retake the test depending on their comfort with the results they have obtained.

NMAT test preparation
NMAT 2017 exam pattern includes 3 sections which are individually timed. NMAT 2017 test taker can choose any order of the sections to begin with. Although no change in test content for NMAT 2017 is proposed, GMAC has provided 2 official sources through which a candidate can prepare for the NMAT by GMAC test.
