CAT 2017 exam Notification will be released on Sunday, July 30 and the CAT registration process will begin a week after the CAT notification release. CAT Notification: Keep your Sunday free
CAT 2017 notification will be released in leading news papers on July 30, along with all the details regarding CAT 2017 exam like opening and closing of CAT 2017 registration date, issue of admit card, application fee, exam dates and number of test centres.

On Sunday, July 30 you must go through each and every aspect of CAT 2017 exam notification and gather all the required documents to ensure your candidature to appear in Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017.

Ensure your CAT 2017 Eligibility
The very first thing you will need to check in CAT 2017 notification on July 30, is the Key eligibility criteria to appear in the exam. Last year CAT allowed the candidates with 2 years of university recognized graduate degree in old pattern as eligible to appear in the exam. The minimum prescribed percentage of marks in bachelor’s degree to appear in CAT is 50%. So ensure this one also.

If you are not eligible for CAT 2017, there is no need to go through the entire notification but if you are, you must check for the other information items also.

Check CAT 2017 exam date
CAT 2017 Notification will contain CAT exam date and exam sessions. If you have also applied to IIFT entrance exam or NMAT by GMAC, check whether the dates of CAT 2017 exam clash with other exams. If this is the case, you should immediately utilize the rescheduling facility for  NMAT by GMAC and finalize which exam between IIFT or CAT is more important to you.

Although CAT exam dates never collide with IIFT exam date, you cannot take it granted as IIFT has already announced its exam date as November 26, while 3 days still remain for CAT notification to be out. Accordingly, clash in exam date cannot be ruled out.

Gather documents for CAT 2017 Registration
Registration for CAT 2017 is to open in the 1st week of August. Please check for the exact date in the notification. Also note down the key documents you will need during the registration process. Instead of waiting for last few days, it is advisable to gather all the required documents in the beginning, keep operational unique mail id, keep the scanned images of your signature and photograph of required size ready to register for CAT 2017 as early as possible.

Prepare a list of programmes in 20 IIMs
There will be 20 IIMs alongwith their programmes mentioned in the CAT notification. You will need to fill up the name of each IIM and its preferred programme in order of preference when you begin to complete the registration process.

Choosing the preferred programme and preferred IIM is a difficult process and consumes more of your time when you begin completing your registration form. It is advisable to go through the IIM programmes mentioned in the CAT 2017 notification and note down your choice in order of preference so that you may quickly complete the registration process without any wastage of time.

Check CAT exam cities on iimcat.ac.in
CAT 2017 Notification will disclose how many test cities will be there for the exam. A choice of 4 preferred test cities is offered by IIMs. To check the list of test cities you are supposed to visit the CAT 2017 website and note down your preferred test cities.

If you do this exercise on Sunday July 30, you will save your time at the time of filling-up information in the CAT 2017 registration form.

Admission to around 6000 seats in 20 IIMs in 2018 will be offered on the basis of CAT 2017 scores and subsequent admission rounds. If CAT 2017 website also opens alongwith the release of notification, please ensure to go through it and arrange the required items of information as they will be required at the time of registering for CAT 2017.
