CAT 2017: 4 days Limited Error Edit option in application form allowed from Sept 27 to 30

4 Days error correction window for CAT 2017 applicants who have already registered and applied for CAT 2017 exam will open from September 27 to 30, 2017. During this period CAT 2017 applicants will be able to edit the limited errors made while filling up their CAT 2017 registration and application form.

Announcing the decision for the benefit of CAT 2017 applicants, IIM Lucknow has stated, “Limited edit option to correct mistakes in submitted applications will be available from 27th to 30th Sept 2017.” Accordingly, the CAT 2017 application form error correction option is available to correct only limited type of errors and for a limited period only.

Details on CAT 2017 website
According to CAT 2017 website “After you submit the application, there will be a limited time window during which can you modify very limited details like percentage of marks scored, work experience, programmes names / interview city centers. You can only view and print after this. Details are available on the application submission page.”

Before Submission: Edit options for CAT application errors
Following are the CAT 2017 application errors that you are able to edit before submission:

Limited Personal details

• Communication address
• Gender
• Educational information
• Work experience
• Exam city preference
• Interview City preference

Please note you can edit these personal details only before submitting the application form and not after making payment.

No Edit option allowed for most details
You cannot edit certain following personal details:

• Name
• Date of Birth
• Email id,
• Mobile number in the CAT 2017 application form

Register again in case of mistakes in personal details
If you have made a mistake in these details, you must register again with a new email ID. Your CAT 2017 application will be considered for the latest registration and the Admit Card will be issued for the same.

Please note that, you will not receive a refund or Admit Card for your earlier registration. Failure to re-register in such circumstances may lead to nullification of your candidature.

How to proceed for CAT application form error correction
To correct the mistakes in CAT 2017 application form, click on the Existing User Login option on the CAT website and proceed to correct the mistakes which are permitted from September 27 to 30, 2017.

Please remember, you cannot edit personal details (Personal details, other personal details, communication address, uploaded documents) and any details in academic section except percentage of marks scored after making payment.

This facility of error correction in CAT 2017 application form was first introduced in 2016 when IIM Bangalore conducted CAT. Highlighting the introduction of edit correction window, the then CAT convener, Prof Rajendra K Bandi had said “For the first time, CAT 2016 enables an option to correct mistakes, if any, discovered after submission of the CAT application.  Candidates will have an option to correct details like Percentage of Marks scored, Work Experience, and Programmes Selected. No other details can be edited.”

IIM Lucknow is conducting CAT 2017 and has ensured to continue with this facility to offer the CAT 2017 application form error correction window to the CAT aspirants. However, IIM Lucknow advises the CAT 2017 aspirants to preview your application form details before submission and making the registration fee payment.

CAT 2017 registration last date closes today on September 25 at 5 PM after getting 5 days registration date extension from September 20. CAT 2017 exam convener Prof Neeraj Dwivedi, faculty at IIM Lucknow has clarified that there will not be any further extension in CAT registration date and it will close at 5PM on September 25. So instead of making a hurried step for CAT 2017 registration a few minutes before the closing time and later on to check how to correct the inadvertently made mistakes, it will be a good step to go for timely and error free CAT registration.

CAT 2017 exam is on November 26, 2017 and the CAT 2017 admit card is proposed to be issued from October 18, 2017 onwards.
