With more international offers and substantially higher stipend in hand, Students of MBA (IB) 2017-19 batch at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) have all reasons to smile as IIFT emerges the first and fastest B-school of India completing its summer placement 2018 with 11% higher stipend than last year apart from receiving record number of international offers.
1.37 lakh average stipend
Sharing the information, IIFT has advised that the premier B-school has completed summer placements for its 2017-19 batch with an average stipend of Rs. 1.37 lakh as compared to Rs 1.24 lakh last year. The Summer placement for the batch witnessed participation from a large number of companies from diverse sectors and industries across all domains. Nearly 65% of the batch was offered a six-figure stipend.

80 Recruiters made offers to 282 students
Around 80 leading recruiters made offers to the batch of 282 students and the companies hired students aggressively with 16 companies recruiting more than 5 students each. ITC, which has been recruiting from IIFT for the last 30 years continued to hire in good numbers.
Students with more choices: Many offers declined
The key highlight of the summer placements this year is that leading brands across all domains visited the campus and competed amongst each other to recruit talented students.
The average stipend increased by a whopping 11%. Emphasis was to achieve quality summer placements and regrets were expressed to many companies.
Few of the brand leaders that recruited IIFT students this year include HUL, ITC, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Godrej Industries (GILAC), Marico, Shell, GE, Dabur, Bain Capability Centre, GSK CH, Google, Amazon, Citibank and Axis Bank. The Tata group (Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Metaliks, Tata International & TCS) made a total of 14 offers.
More International offers
International placements continued to be strong this year with 16 students being offered international roles across Middle East, Africa, Europe, Singapore and Indonesia.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) continued their exclusive association with IIFT. WTO recruited interns for their Geneva office while OECD offered roles for their Paris office. Their participation along with the likes of trade giants like Louis Dreyfuss reaffirmed the status of IIFT as one of the premier trade schools.
Finance domain gets variety of Roles
Finance domain saw unprecedented variety of roles being offered by recruiters. Diverse roles were offered by leading companies such as Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Axis Bank, DBS, GE, Yes Bank, ICICI Bank, RBL, L&T, Piramal Group, Citibank, Indus Valley Partners, Axis Securities and Aviva. Corporate Finance roles were offered by GSK-CH and Boston Scientific-Corporate Finance among others.
Sales & Marketing: Diverse sectoral representation
Sales and Marketing domain witnessed a distinctive representation across sectors like FMCG, Telecom, Pharma and Healthcare, Consumer Durables, Media and Advertising, E-commerce, Apparel Retail, Automotive, Iron & Steel manufacturing and Real Estate.
Top leading brands which recruited IIFT students are HUL, ITC, Godrej Consumer Products Limited, GSK-CH, Dabur, Marico, Britannia, PPG-Asian Paints, Wipro-CCLG, Raymond, DCM Shriram etc. Industry leader from Telecom Domain such as Airtel & Vodafone hired interns from IIFT.
Management roles offered across diverse domains
The General Management roles were offered to IIFT students by industry leaders such as Mahindra and Mahindra, Airtel, Godrej Properties, Tata Steel, RPG, L&T, Shell, Bajaj Auto, Akzonobel, Mattel, Royal Enfield, HP, IBM, Dell and Capgemini recruiting substantially from IIFT.
Quality Consulting roles were offered to IIFT students by leading brands such as Bain Capability Centre, Synergy Consulting, GEP, CEB (now Gartner) and others.
Leading brands in Pharma sector such as Medtronic, Sun Pharma, Boston Scientific, Sanofi-Genzyme continued to hire interns from IIFT. Internship roles in media and advertising sector were offered by Hindustan Times Media among others.

IIFT proposes to launch its new campus at Kakinada also. The candidates appearing in IIFT entrance exam on Sunday December 3 may expect to get admission in one of the 3 domestic campuses in MBA (IB) 2018-20 batch.
