Infotech pioneer NR Narayana Murthy to preside over the IMT Convocation

After the close of placement season across leading B-schools, it is now time for students to receive their diploma and honours.

Mr. NR Narayana Murthy, Chairman of the Board and Chief Mentor of iconic IT company Infosys will preside over the annual convocation of Indian Institute of Technology Ghaziabad, to be held on March 18, 2008.  

IMT will award diplomas and degree to over 780 students of Ghaziabad and Nagpur campuses. 

On the occasion of the Convocation, IMT will honour an eminent alumnus through the Distinguished Alumni Award instituted in 2005 for their outstanding professional achievement and significant contributions. The Distinguished Alumni Award 2007 had gone to Mr. Rajeev Karwal, Mr. Prasoon Joshi, Mr. Ravi Soni, Mr. Arshi Narang and Mr. Abhijeet Dutta Ray.  

Tech pioneer Mr Narayana Murthy has been the face of IT revolution that swept the nation  in last decade or so. Mr. Narayana Murthy has recently been awarded the Padma Vibhushan and the Officer of the Legion of Honour, the highest civilian award of France. He founded Infosys in 1981 along with six other software professionals and served as the CEO for 21 years before handing over the reins of the company to co-founder Nandan M. Nilekani in March 2002. Under his leadership, Infosys was listed on NASDAQ in 1999. He served as the Executive Chairman of the Board and Chief Mentor from 2002 to 2006. 

Established in 1980, the Institute of Management Technology, offers seven full time and one part time programme which includes Post Graduate Diploma in Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Information Technology), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Human Resource), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (International Management), Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Executive), PhD Programme and Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Part Time).
