XAT 2019 Exam Analysis 2019 will be published at 1.15 PM by MBAUniverse.com immediately after the XAT 2019 exam is over on January 6, 2019. XAT 2019 exam duration has been reduced from three and half hours to 3 hours. The XAT analysis and expected cut offs will be based on various factors in XAT exam this year. Since last year XAT has changed its exam pattern by switching over to computer based test from paper based test and has also changed number of questions, the XAT analysis 2019 will highlight such changes and the difficulty level in XAT 2019 exam. It is expected that the XAT exam analysis 2019 will see a changed difficulty level and twisted type of questions among other things in XAT exam.
Alongwith the XAT Exam 2019 Analysis , the cut offs based on XAT Percentile Vs Marks from experts will also be published. Besides, the XAT paper analysis by Career Launcher and other prominent XAT coaching centres will be published.
Out of 92000 candidates who registered for XAT 2018, around 85000 appeared in XAT 2018 on first online XAT exam on January 7, 2018 from 10AM to 1.35PM. XAT Exam was not free from technical glitches as several candidates at many centres found their exam getting stopped abruptly.
XAT 2018 exam did not take place at BM Group of Institutions at Farukhnagar Gurgaon centre due to technical glitches. The exam will be rescheduled. Regretting the technical problems in conduct of exam, XLRI has sent the message to the XAT test takers, “Dear Candidate we regret the inconvenience caused due to technical glitch. Exam will be rescheduled and date will be communicated shortly.”
XAT 2018 test paper: Composition
Despite being an online computer based test, XAT 2018 question paper was similar on the last year pattern with the exception that no turn-around time of 5 minutes between the part-1 with 3 main sections having negative marking and part-2 with 2 sections without negative marking was missing.
The first 3 sections on English Language & Logical Ability; Decision Making; and Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation will be taken towards calculation of PERCENTILE in XAT 2018. This percentile is used for shortlisting by all institutes that take the XAT scores.
The next two sections consisting of General Knowledge Section (no negative marks) and an Essay section are qualifying in nature and will be considered mainly by XLRI at the time of the Interview and final selection.

Analysis: Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation
QA & DI section was termed as easier than last year. DI was found much easier. Quant part had more questions on Arithmetic. Geometry, Coordinate Geometry, Mensuration, Number system were major topics on which questions were framed. The cut off in this section is expected to go higher than last year. Decision Making was reported as more tricky than other 2 sections in XAT. The caselets in Decision Making consumed more time of the candidates to solve and the candidates could not solve as many questions as they could. Section 4 on General Awareness with 25 questions followed by descriptive Essay writing test were the components of Part-2 in XAT 2018 exam. Both these sections are not counted in percentile calculation.
Assessment
The composition of the questions in XAT 2018 was more or less same as predicted by MBAUniverse.com earlier. Number of questions placed in XAT 2018 were from forgotten topics. MBAUniverse.com forewarned the aspirants to watch out for the same. The aspirants who paid heed to the suggestions and tips shared with them definitely did better in the test.
Questions on number of forgotten topics with higher level of difficulty, increased number of passages, questions which had different trend and didn’t appear earlier, appeared in XAT 2018 marking their presence in various sections.
Those who could attempt around 16 questions with accuracy in each of the 3 sections can expect a call from XLRI and other top rated B-schools like SPJIMR, IMT, XIMB among others.
Overall examination was moderate to difficult and those who attempted the test with judicious time management may expect to get through with a high percentile. A fair attempt of around 48 questions with not more than 6-7 incorrect may expect a call from leading B schools like XLRI, XIMB, IMT, SPJIMR.
