IIM-B to hold its convocation on March 25; IT pioneer Gururaj Deshpande to address

Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B) will celebrate its 33rd Annual Convocation on March 25, 2008. On the occasion, IT pioneer Dr Gururaj Deshpande will deliver the convocation address.

Speaking to MBAUniverse.com, IIM-B's Prof Ananthashayanam P said, "The convocation ceremony will be presiding by Dr Gururaj Deshpande, Co-founder and Chairman, Sycamore Networks Inc."  

He further added, "On the occasion the students from its four programmes like Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Program in Software Enterprise Management PGSEM), Post Graduate Programme in Public Policy & Management (PGPPM) and Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) will be felicitated with degrees." 

On the occasion, Prof Pankaj Chandra, Director of IIM-B, will also deliver his first convocation address at Indian Institute of Management Banglore. Prior to IIM-B, he was associated with IIM-A as a professor. He was the Chairperson of Doctoral Programme at IIM-A from 2003 to 2005.  

Dr. Gururaj Deshpande is the co-founder and chairman of the Sycamore networks Inc. He is a pioneering technology entrepreneur and a futurist. Dr. Deshpande is well known for his work in the field of education and community. Dr. Deshpande serves as a member of the MIT Corporation. He helped develop the MIT's Deshpande Center for Technological Innovation.
