Montek Singh Ahluwalia to preside over Convocation at IIM-A

Shri Montek Singh Ahluwalia Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission Government of India will presides over the 43rd Annual Convocation of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) on March 29, 2008.

According to Information shared by IIM-A with MBAUnvierse.com, on the occasion of Convocation day, there will be conferral of Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) title, two year Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management, Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management (PGP-ABM), One Year Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX) and One-Year Post Graduate Programme in Public Management and Policy (PGP-PMP) by Chairman Board of Governors, IIM-A.   

Mr Ahluwalia will award the Scholastic medals to meritorious students." 

Montek Singh Ahluwalia is a key figure in India's economic reforms from the early 1980s onwards. He was the first Director of the Independent Evaluation Office, International Monetary Fund. He assumed office on July 9, 2001. Prior to taking up his position at the IMF, Mr. Ahluwalia was a Member of the Planning Commission in New Delhi as well as a Member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister. 

He earned his B.A. (Hons) degree in New Delhi and his M.A. and M. Phil. degrees from Oxford University.
