As part of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations, XLRI Jamshedpur held the 68th Annual Convocation on March 23, 2024. During the occasion, diplomas were conferred upon 551 graduating students. On the occasion, XLRI Jamshedpur presented the Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal for Industrial and Social Peace Award to Mr N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons. Mr Chandrasekaran was the Chief Guest of the Convocation and congratulated XLRI for completing 75 Years of service to the Indian education and business sectors.
TV Narendran, CEO & MD of Tata Steel & Chairman of XLRI, addressed the occasion, and mentioned that XLRI was the first management school established in the country and that it was celebrating its 75 years of existence. He added that the competition in management education had changed since 1949, with many IIMs and other institutes now established in the country. He concluded by extending his heartiest congratulations to the graduating batch.
Addressing the convocation, Fr. S George S.J., Director of XLRI Jamshedpur, remarked that this is a historic year as it marks 75 years of educating young minds and contributing to nation-building.
XLRI Medals for Academic Excellence were awarded to 14 deserving students by Dr. Sanjay Patro, Dean (Academics). Four faculty members were acknowledged for their research papers published in the A* Category Journals.
