New Delhi institute of Management (NDIM) hosted the Finals of Smart India Hackathon at its campus. The two day event held at 28 nodal centres across the country was inaugurated by Union HRD Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar on March 30.

New Delhi institute of Management (NDIM) hosted the Finals of Smart India Hackathon – a two day event organized at its campus on March 30 and 31, 2018. The Final was inaugurated by Union HRD Minister Shri Prakash Javadekar. The event was held at 28 nodal centers across the country.

Smart India Hackathon  is a dream project of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. It was launched to involve youth of the country to find digital solutions to problem statements of 27 Ministries and 17 State Governments across the country in 28 centres. Hackathon envisages a Digital India to bridge the digital divide in the country and further promote digital literacy in order to make development a comprehensive mass movement and put governance within everyone’s reach in India.

In order to work towards the Prime Minister’s vision, MHRD, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Inter Institutional Inclusive Innovation Center (i4C), and Persistent Systems organized Smart India Hackathon 2017, a unique initiative to identify new and disruptive digital technology innovations for solving the challenges faced by our country. The initiative recorded a huge success. To further the efforts towards this vision the 2nd edition of this initiative - Smart India Hackathon 2018 was launched.

Sharing about the new initiative Smart India Hackathon, the Minister of HRD, Shri Javadekar said that 27 innovations made by students in the last year’s Hackathon are at the final stage. More than 100 innovations are expected to come this year.

Addressing the participants at NDIM Campus, Mr Javadekar also addressed the Smart India Hackathon participants at all the other 27 centers across India through video conferencing   simultaneously. The hon’ble minister said that more than 1 lakh students from more than 1200 colleges participated in this 2nd edition of the Hackathon and 8000 finalists were working at finding digital solutions to problem statements of 27 Ministries and 17 State Governments. The minister informed that this was the biggest innovation revolution and will result in tremendous ease of business.

Smart India Hackathon has seen a big participation from among the corporate and industry professionals in Delhi and NCR region. The Hackathon has witnessed a big turnout of 115 top CEOs & Digital Leaders at the NDIM Campus during the 36 hours of the event which showed their keen interest in learning from the young scholars gathered from across the country.

NDIM Delhi is one of the leading B-schools in India. The institute was conferred the ‘The Best Industry Linked Management Institute Award’ by AICTE-CII in December 2017. Earlier also, NDIM was awarded the Best College 2015 Award and Best MBA College 2016 Award in recognition to its continuous innovation in curriculum and teaching methodologies.
