This also happens to be AIMA’s golden jubilee anniversary! 21st February is also the date AIMA is celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year. Last year, the President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam had validated celebration of Management Day every year to coincide with the Foundation Day of AIMA. Panel discussions and forums on management trends and developments will mark the celebrations, and the overall theme will be “Building Institutions”.

Says Dr Kamal Singh, director, AIMA-CMD, “President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam had graciously recognized the celebration of Management Day on 21st February every year. We shall be celebrating the first ever Management Day in the history of India’s management movement on 21st February, 2007.”

As part of the celebrations, AIMA is organizing a panel discussion featuring eminent speakers including Sharad Pawar, Minister of Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution; Sheela Dixit, Chief Minister, Delhi; and Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Chief Minister, West Bengal. This will be held at Ashok Hotel, New Delhi.

AIMA was set up, in 1957, as a professional management body with the active support of the Government of India and Industry, and is today a national icon in the field of management. It also maintains close links with a number of overseas professional institutes like the American Management Association, UK’s Chartered Institute of Management, St. Gallen University of Switzerland, and all national management organizations in the Asia Pacific region.
