Career Launcher Education Foundation (CLEF) launched Roshni-2008 Pilot Program, in partnership with Roshni Academy, on June 17, 2008 in New Delhi.

Mrs Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister, Govt of NCT of Delhi delivered keynote address and launched the programme. In her address, she motivated students to perform better and excel in whichever field they choose.

Roshni-2008 Pilot Program is an intensive 2 week summer program wherein Career Launcher will provide 30 underprivileged girl students with wide-ranging skills, diverse network, and self-confidence through its training, mentoring, and resources. In addition, the top three candidates of Roshni Pilot Program 2008 will receive full-scholarship for higher education at any university in India and will also be given an opportunity to go on an educational tour.

Through this program, Career Launcher aims to provide training in English, Computer Literacy, Communication and Public Speaking, Leadership and Teamwork; advice on important topics such as health, nutrition, hygiene, career options, networking and also access to key resources such as health clinics, legal clinics, digital equalizer centers and micro finance banks.

On this occasion, Saima Hasan, Founder, Roshni Academy said, "It was extremely difficult to select only a handful of students. We picked up top 30 students for this year's program. About 110 children from 4 different schools appeared for the selection procedure. It was a voluntary choice of the students. The procedure was open only for children who aspired to pursue education beyond grade 12."

The selection was based on an Aptitude Test and Personal Interview of the students and their parents. The students who finally made it through were then reviewed on their financial status (not exceeding family income of Rs 5, 000 per month).

Career Launcher Education Foundation (CLEF), has embarked upon setting up a chain of mainstream schools under the brand name 'Indus World School', and a chain of playschools called 'Ananda'. CLEF was co-founded by a group of educators who aim to contribute directly to society and nation building. This group of eclectic professionals is alumni from leading institutes in the country viz. IITs, IIMs.
