CRSI to hold workshops on Case Method of Teaching

To promote Case method of teaching and writing, the Case Research Society of India (CRSI) is conducting workshops on Case Method of Teaching across India in centers like Bombay, Bangalore, Madras, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Delhi and Ahmedabad.

The workshops began in July, 2008 and will continue till February 2009.  

The workshops are divided into four sessions which include Case Method of Teaching Demonstration; Case Method of teaching by participants and feedback; Presentation of draft cases by participants and feedback and Sharing experiences in case writing.  

The workshops are aimed at faculty members from B-schools in India; trainers from large industrial organizations and senior HR executives who are involved in training related activities.  

Prof N Ravichandran, Founder member of CRSI and professor at IIM-A said, "There is a need to train, reorient, reenergize, reactivate management faculty from various business schools on case method of teaching and case writing. The society was formed to meet this important need and gap."  

The institute where these workshops are taking place include Welingkar Institute of management Development and Research, Bombay; Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore; DoMS, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras; National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Hyderabad; Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar; DMS, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Ahmedabad Management Association. 

Case Research Society of India (www.caseresearch.org) is a professional society formed to promote case method of teaching. The society is formed by professors from IIM A; IIT Chennai and other leading institutions.
