IIM Indore completed twelve years of existence on October 3, 2008. The youngest of IIMs, except the newly launched IIM Shillong, IIM Indore has taken a series of steps to continue its march forward.

On academic programme front, it has introduced a series of new courses, and its students are engaging with Industry by working on live projects.

According to information shared by IIM Indore with MBAUniverse.com, several new courses have been launched to the PGP and Executive PGP in Management course. These new courses include areas like Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Infrastructure Management, Service Operations Management and Marketing of Financial Services. A broadband based course on Retail Management has also been introduced.

Management Development Programmes have also been revamped and several new ones introduced including Logistics and Supply Chain management, Advanced Selling Systems, Sales and distribution for Pharmaceutical companies. Companies collaborating with IIM-I in this area include Eicher Motors, Mahindra Financial Services Ltd (MFSL) & Godrej.

IIM Indore has also initiated a tie-up with the European Business School in Germany. The European Business School (EBS) is Germany's oldest state-accredited university of business administration. Says IIM-I, "Over the last three months, the Student Exchange programme Committee has been taking initiatives to achieve tie-ups with several of the world's best B-Schools. These would complement the list of universities already on our roster."

IIM Indore has also been working on tie-ups with Industry for live projects, where students gain valuable experience and insights. "The 'Offline Project Programmes' or OPPs are an IIM Indore initiative which serves as a fertile interface between the corporate and the academia. Through this program, corporate organizations and entrepreneurial ventures have constant access to the inherent talent of the student body at IIM Indore. The students, on the other hand, get the opportunity to participate in experiential learning by undertaking the challenging assignments offered by the corporate," informs IIM Indore.

These projects are coordinated by various clubs at IIM Indore. For instance, the Entrepreneurship and Consulting Club has projects running with State Bank, Aptiva Consulting, Pratibha Syntex and Marico. For SBI, the students studied the bank's offerings to medical practitioners and conducted a Gap-analysis exercise to identify avenues for product improvements. The students also worked with the corporate strategy team of Pratibha Syntex to restructure the business and streamline various activities of the organization in order to positively impact the bottom-line. They also designed a brand strategy for the launch of a new product by the company. With regard to Marico, an assessment was done on the market potential for Saffola Gold in the Indore Market and triggers were identified to improve the sales of the product in the State of Madhya Pradesh.

MercurI, the Marketing Club, through the route of an inter B school contest, organised a consultancy project to address live problems for the business venture www.scratchmysoul.com. Mercuri also brought a live project on new Bed & Breakfast format of hospitality to give students exposure to the concept.

Pragati, the Social Initiatives Club is working on a project with BGMS, a pan Madhya Pradesh NGO, to establish a 'B-school of semi literates' to provide them with vocational literacy in new-age economy skills.
