This international festival will be a major milestone event to be featured in Golden Jubilee Celebrations of IIT Bombay, informs SJM SOM.
AVENUES 08 has increased in scale over the last five years and Avenues 07 held on 27th and 28th October 2007, saw participation from countries all over the world including US, Singapore, China, UAE, Netherlands etc. Eminent leaders like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Mr Sam Pitroda, Mr J M Lyndoh and Mr Ashank Desai graced the Distinguished Lecture series. Avenues 07 also featured several events and competitions with a special focus on rural development and social entrepreneurship. The event had active support of organizations like CII-Yi, TiE and NEN among others.
This year AVENUES 08 is a collection of business and management events to be held over two days with the primary objective of bringing on the confluence of the management students and the industry. Says SJM SOM, “The event will try to achieve this objective by hosting a series of distinguished lectures, competitions, games, panel discussions and workshops. It will have participants from the best management schools across the globe. Corporates, entrepreneurs, B-schools aspirants and engineers –will be participating in this potpourri of business events.”
The events and contests will be presided and judged by some of the best known people from industry and academia. Avenues 08 will reach 100 top global universities with the likes of Harvard, Stanford , NUS, MIT ,over 150 major business schools across India, more than 100 undergraduate colleges, corporates, entrepreneurs, IIT Bombay students and alumni, informs SJM SOM. It will see participation in the form of more than 2500 team entries for various events and attendance of more than 10,000 for the talk series and cultural night.
