CII Knowledge Summit KM India 2008 to focus on enhancing India's competitiveness

CII Knowledge Summit - The KM India 2008 will be held on 5 - 7 November 2008 in Mumbai. Supported by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the summit will focus on "Enhancing Competitiveness of India through Knowledge Management".

KM India is an endeavour undertaken under the aegis of CII Mission on Knowledge to create a more robust Indian ecosystem that generates economic value through the effective harnessing of knowledge and intellectual capital, within knowledge-based organizations and industries. It aimed at creating a better understanding of knowledge management practices, research and practical applications.

Mr. Ashok Soota, Chairman CIIs Mission on Knowledge and CMD, MindTree, said that Knowledge Management has become a key item on the corporate agenda and is increasingly seen as a key enabler that fosters the organization's ability to innovate. the KM Summit this year will focus on how to enhance knowledge-driven culture and make it a source of competitive advantage.

The KM India 2008 will focus on critical issues being faced by the KM experts and fraternity such as KM Strategy & Assessment; Competencies and Cultural building for Knowledge Organization; Technology Trends for Managing Knowledge etc.

The Summit brings together global experts on Knowledge Management from the industry, consulting, academia and non-profit organizations to discuss the challenges facing the knowledge-intensive industries and organizations. Experts will deliberate on the technologies, processes and cultural elements facilitating Knowledge Management.

The KM India will also have a keynote address by Ms Debra Amidon, Founder & CEO, ENTOVATION International Ltd, US, one of the globally recognized KM Experts, on "In the Knowledge Innovation Zone: Implications for India, the Region and Abroad". Apart from the technical sessions, panel discussions, master classes the KM India 2008 will also include the Indian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) Award ceremony. The MAKE Awards recognize the best Indian organizations in KM based on an annual study conducted by the Know Network. A total of 16 organizations have been recognized as Indian MAKE Finalists 2008 based on the nominations from Indian MAKE expert panel. The nominees for the MAKE awards 2008 include Aditya Birla Group, Bharti Airtel, Byrraju Foundation, Eureka Forbes, ICICI Bank, Infosys Technologies, Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra & Mahindra, Mind Tree Ltd, Reliance Industries Ltd, Satyam Computer Services, Steel Authority of India (SAIL), Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Motors, Tata Steel and Wipro Technologies. Shri Suresh Prabhu, Former Union Minister and Member of Parliament will confer the MAKE awards on November 5, 2008.
