Keeping in view the growing attraction amongst MBAs towards entrepreneurship, IIM Calcutta's International B-School meet - Intaglio has launched its showcase event GIC (Great Innovation Challenge) to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of students.

Boasting of prize money worth INR 2 lakhs, GIC is clearly one of the most closely awaited events of the year in the B-School calendar. Finalists in GIC will get a chance to work closely with Intaglio's knowledge partners, comprising of India's leading Companies from sectors like IT, FMCG and Social Ventures, to solve real life problems from the companies, devise strategies of market expansion and protect market niches, all of this live inside company premises.

IIM C says that this is for the first time, Intaglio has taken the B-School competition to the corporate boardrooms.

As of now, GIC in its first year of inception has already received 761 registrations from 65 B-schools across 7 countries including Europe and America. Not only this, Intaglio's website has seen 20,000+ visits across 49 different countries including US, Singapore, France, UK and China, with just 3 events launched out of planned 14.

Says IIM C, "the popularity of GIC stands testimony to the growing recognition of the Indian B-Schools in general and IIM Calcutta in particular. This is reflected in the growing size and scale of Intaglio year after year."

The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta is all set to hold its prestigious annual International B-school meet, Intaglio, from January 8th to 11th.
