FMS 2009 – the entrance exam of Delhi University's Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) for its two year MBA programmes will be held on January 11, 2009.

To help the FMS admission test takers, MBAUniverse.com presents expert advice and tips on FMS 09. The exam will test the Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation, Analytical Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension.

The FMS admission test last year consisted of 175 questions to be attempted in 120 minutes, with four sections-- Verbal Ability with 35 questions, Reading Comprehension with 40 questions, Analytical & Logical Reasoning with 50 questions and Quantitative Aptitude with 50 questions.

While sharing an overview on what FMS actually tests, IMS Learning says, "FMS exam tests an in-depth knowledge of English Language and Usage (FMS 2008 had questions on figures of speech) and the RC passages in the past have been fairly lengthy and cumbersome. Questions from other domains are relatively easier. There have been a few direct questions on Calculus (limits, differentiation and integration) in the Quantitative Ability area."

Commenting on last year's test paper, IMS Learning says, "In FMS 08, there were 4 to 5 questions on calculus and modern Maths in the Quantitative section (which have been a regular feature of the FMS test). However, the DI and DS questions were missing and the RC passages were lengthy. Overall cut-off was around 310 marks for the MBA course and around 290 marks for the MBA-MS course."

When MBAUniverse.com asked IMS Learning to share its expectations from FMS 09, IMS Learning said, "FMS has not given any major surprises; so we are not expecting a dramatic change; but one has to understand that the paper setter always has the flexibility to play with the physical parameters of the test, unless otherwise stated."
