On January 30 and February 1, 2009, the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad will play host to Chaos 2009, the most awaited college cultural festival. The theme this year is 'Khalbali', which stands for excitement and chaos.

IIM A Chaos is one of the biggest cultural spectacles across all Indian campuses, and it brings together students from colleges across the country to be part of the celebration.

Says IIM A, "Embedded deep within the red bricks of the Mecca of higher learning called IIM Ahmedabad lays the spirit of path breaking ideas, the spirit of creating something unique, something new, something brilliant. Each sparked by a dream, a KHALBALI in the minds and hearts of people. It is exactly this Khalbali which is celebrated this year as the central theme."

The event will see workshop by Shiamak Dawar academy, music by MotherJane & Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, kavi sammelan, miniature painting workshop and even fashion Parade, choreo nite.

IIMA and Chaos has also partnered with Diwakar Pingle, the renowned quizmaster of Odyssey Quiz fame to present to you the Quiz @ Chaos 2009. Featuring the unique concept of an online prelim round online for colleges present outside Ahmedabad, the quiz will be amongst the most intellectually stimulating events on campus.

The event will also host Safexpress Great Ahmedabad race, modeled on the popular TV series - the Amazing race. This is a unique treasure hunt around the city of Ahmedabad. Teams of two are given clues, which take them through stages in various locations of Ahmedabad, culminating in the final destination. Five teams from Ahmedabad, and five from outside, selected through countrywide online prelims, will battle it out in this test of endurance and wits.

Chaos started in 1996 as a business cum cultural festival. From its humble beginnings, it grew into a full fledged cultural festival, second in size only to Navrathri in Gujarat. Over the years, Chaos has witnessed increasing participation from colleges across the length and breadth of the country. In the past, it has showcased some of the biggest names in the Indian entertainment industry, including KK, Euphoria, Fuzon, Silk Route etc.
