SCMS Cochin School of Business is all set to host its annual management fest Shikhar 2016 on 28th and 29th January. It will be the 16th edition of the fest that was born with a few young students coming together with the idea of testing classroom learning, in a professional setting. Since then, over the decades, the event has grown in stature and has become one of the most popular and much awaited college fests of Kerala. It draws students from institutes across India and industry names from various sectors, in large numbers. This year Shikhar will pay tribute to and celebrate the genius of India’s Missile Man and ex President Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam.

Dr. Kalam was the visionary who took India’s prowess beyond the planet and into the space. He inspired the Nation to dream big and be brave. That is in keeping with the mission statement for Shikhar, which is an invitation on a journey to the summit for young professionals in the country, who can showcase their talents and skills. This year too, the National Management Fest will serve as a platform for management hopefuls from various institutes to display their true potential. On the line will be fantastic rewards along with bragging rights to be won for their respective institutes. Shikhar 2016 has over Rs.1 lacs for students to bag as prize money.

Shikhar also draws leading names from the industry who are presented with an opportunity to meet and spot brilliant young managers putting their best foot forward in the most competitive environment. This year will be no different as corporate bigwigs from various industry sectors will make their presence felt at the fest, playing different roles as judges, mentors and guests. Budding managers will put give their best in a bid to impress them and win them over. There will be a wide range of games that have become traditional favorites that will serve as a medium for participants to make themselves and their institutes proud.

Since the theme of Shikhar 2K16 is 'A Tribute To The Missile Man', the management and tech games have been named in tribute to India’s Space guru. Some of the popular Management Games this year will be Finance game (Brahmos), HR game (Reignted), Marketing game (Astra), Best Management Team (Wings of fire), Operations game (Prithvi) and Business quiz (Ignited minds). The Tech Games on the other hand are Coding (Eternal quest), Hacking (Trishul), Gaming (Elemental warriors) and Best app contest (Inspiring thoughts). They will test the mettle of India’s future but above all create memories that will remain fresh in the young minds for a long time to come.
