The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, will be organizing an event B-Cube – Best Business Brains - at the NITIE Campus on February 8, 2009.

NITIE organizes such events every year which is aimed at providing assistance to those MBA aspirants preparing for the GD/PI selection process.

The day-long event will comprise quiz, seminar, interviews and group discussion along with feedback at each stage.  The management aspirants will be offered a platform to interact with students, alumni and faculty of the institute and get their views on a range of topics. The event is also aimed at bringing in a dimension of tangibility to the whole concept of being one of the premier institutes of the country. The event is mainly being organized by the students themselves.

"We hope to make a difference this year as well in the careers of so many aspiring managers. Expression of thought, intention and purpose is of significant importance for any individual holding a managerial post. We hope that all the MBA aspirants will make the best use of this opportunity to learn," said NITIE official.

Lakhs of MBA aspirants across the country are eagerly waiting for the various B-Schools to declare the result of the entrance tests. Then another agonizing wait will start before the release of cut-offs till the invitation letters for group discussions/personal interviews (GD/PI) are received.

According to NITIE, considering the present economic slump and lack of new job opportunities in the market, the time is perfect to take up an MBA programme and return to the workplace equipped with enhanced knowledge and skills after MBA. This may be the reason behind a steep rise in the number of MBA aspirants nationwide, says NITIE. For instance, CAT saw 2.67 lakh students appearing for the test in 2008 as compared to 2.3 lakh in 2007.
