It took only three slots for the entire Class of 2007 at IIM A to get the most coveted jobs that India Inc, Wall Street majors and blue-chip consulting firms had to offer.

The placement season was officially closed on Tuesday 12 March when all 235 students who participated in Placements 2007 had secured their dream jobs. At the end of Slot Zero, there were only 95 students available for interviewing on Slot One, whereas the last day had only those students who were specifically targeting companies scheduled for Slot Two. A significant portion of the batch (around 60% or 140 students) had been placed or had opted out by the end of the much-coveted Slot Zero of placements, which saw as many as 17 firms on campus. In total 86 firms participated on the process.

Some leading investment banks and consulting firms such as Bain & Co, Boston Consulting Group, Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers, McKinsey and Merrill Lynch recruited from the campus. The highest number of offers was given by Lehman Brothers, -- it made a whopping 17 offers of which 14 were accepted. Merrill Lynch which made 15 offers had 14 acceptances. Consulting bellwether McKinsey made 13 offers of which 12 were accepted. Apart from that, firms such as Blackstone Real Estate, Fischer Jordan, ING, Opera Solutions and Value Partners were some of the new additions in Slot Zero this year.

The salaries offered to IIMA graduates have been steadily increasing at IIM A. Both domestic and international salaries increased substantially this year.
