IIM L to organize conference to address ‘Asian management practices’ on Mar 19-21

IIM Lucknow in association with the Japan Foundation will organize a three-day International Conference on ‘Asian Management Practices: People, Strategies and Evolutions’ from March 19-21, 2009.

The first day of the event will be held in New Delhi where eminent speakers will address central themes. The other two days will be held in IIM Lucknow’s Noida campus where speakers will be presenting their viewpoints on different sub-themes. 
 
According to IIM L, the sole objective behind the launch of the conference is to promote mutual understanding among the cross-sections of the society including academicians, industry leaders, management experts and representatives from NGOs.
 
The New Delhi session will be started with the welcome address of Dr Devi Singh, Director-IIM Lucknow. Other keynote speakers who will be addressing the session on the theme ‘Key issues in international HR management’ include Dr. Peter J. Dowling, Professor of International Business, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand; Prof. Jai B.P Sinha, Professor of psychology and management,  ASSERT Institute of  Management Studies, Patna; Prof. Fang Lee Cooke, Professor of HRM and Chinese studies, Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, UK; Prof. Kazuo Takada, professor at Hitotsubashi University, Japan.
 
The remaining two-day session will be held in Noida campus of IIM Lucknow on March 20-21, 2009. The dignitaries who are invited to address the sub-theme ‘Strategic HR Evolutions’ during the session are: Dr. Simanchala Das, professor at Alphia Institute of Business Management Berhampur, Orissa; Mr. Vinay Singh, Doctoral Candidate, IIT Kanpur; Prof. R.R.K Sharma, IIT Kanpur; and Ms. Babita Yadav, Faculty Member, H.C.E.T Jabalpur, MP.
