XIMB to celebrate Convocation 2007

The Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB) will hold its 16th Convocation on 24th March 2007; Subodh Bhargava, chairman, Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL), will preside over the function.

Mr. Bhargava has been closely associated with technical and management education in India. He was chairman, Board of Apprenticeship Training, and member of the board of governors of the University of Roorkee. Currently, he’s on the board of IIM, Indore, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, and the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad. 

XIMB completed, in 2007, 22 years of its purposeful existence. It offers a two-year full-time postgraduate program in management, an executive postgraduate program in management, a postgraduate program in rural management, a fellow program in management, and a postgraduate certificate program in management. 

The institute owes its origin to a social contract between the Government of Orissa and the Orissa Jesuit Society (OJS). The management of the institute is in the hands of a governing board, comprising representatives from the Jesuit Society, the Government of India, the Government of Orissa and eminent industrialists and educationists. 

XIM’s mission is to develop professional managers for the corporate sector and for other socio-economic institutions, which will serve the people of India and foster the progress of the nation.
