Dr. Ghai, also Director of SIMSR, Mumbai plans to involve more young managers and MBA students in BMA activities

The Director KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research (SIMSR), Mumbai, Dr. Suresh Ghai, has taken over as the President of Bombay Management Association (BMA), the oldest management association in the country.

Dr Ghai and a team of new members, including the new Vice-President, took office on June 05, 2009 at the association’s Annual General Meet (AGM) organised in the BMA Library Conference Room.

Taking over the baton from former President S Mohan, the SIMSR Director said, “I was elected as the Vice-President of BMA last year. And as per the BMA constitution, the Vice-President automatically takes over as the President next year.”

The new President of BMA, while expressing joy with MBAUniverse.com, said, “I plan to involve more young managers and MBA students in BMA activities. My objective would be to make BMA a more vibrant organisation and to make it the most preferred association for professionals. This will also help students of SIMSR to learn more about the BMA and get involved in its activities.”

The BMA, established in 1954, focuses on improving the standards of Business Management in India by organising relevant training programmes, lectures and meetings. Over the years the BMA has imparted training to over 1.08 lakh managers of the Indian Corporate world.

With his aim to further the scope and reach of BMA, Dr Ghai said, “For the first time the BMA would be holding a strategy convention, inviting academicians, senior professionals and young managers on the same platform.” Addressing the AGM, the SIMSR Director and the BMA President asserted that the new team, which was formed after the BMA elections, will work together to try and take BMA to the next level.
