This year around 408 students have secured seats in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM C) Calcutta's two-year MBA programme, the fees for which is Rs 4 lakh for the first year and Rs 5 lakh for the second year. The new session of MBA programme for the Class of 2009-11 is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2009 at IIM C and the authorities at IIM C has organised a variety of programmes for the newcomers.

IIM C Director Shekhar Chaudhuri told MBAUniverse.com that the the orientation programme will give an insight to the students about the course and the city tour will help them get to know the city well and it will also help them make new friends. The tour has also been arranged to apprise the students of the historical and cultural sites in Kolkata, he said. The IIM C administration has organised the one-day orientation programme and the half-day city tour has been arranged by the Students’ Council.

The IIM C Director added that the course structure for the MBA programme has not undergone any large change and said, “The two-year common MBA programme has not been revamped much as compared to last year. The two MBA programmes - PGDM and PGDCM - will be held with some necessary modifications that were made to adapt to the ever changing scenario in the corporate world.”
