Deutsche Bank and TERI University have announced the launch of Deutsche Bank Scholarship for the MBA (Infrastructure) program. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by Dr. R.K. Pachauri, The Chancellor, TERI University and Mr. Caio Koch-Weser, Vice Chairman, Deutsche Bank Group on June 26. Under this MoU, three Deutsche Bank Scholarships will be provided per year for the MBA (Infrastructure) program, for a period of three years, with each scholarship being for a maximum period of two years.

Speaking on the importance of such specialized courses, Dr. R.K. Pachauri, said, “TERI University is a unique institution which is focusing on the challenges that humanity is facing today and would continue to face in the future particularly in respect of unsustainable use of natural resources. Against that background we are pleased and proud to receive support from Deutsche Bank. We believe the graduates of the TERI University who benefit from support being provided by Deutsche Bank will help take the world towards a sustainable future.”

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Caio Koch-Weser said, “I am delighted that Deutsche Bank has joined hands with TERI. This relationship will spawn new ideas and creative solutions to meet the infrastructure and environmental challenges facing India. I am confident of a long lasting and fruitful relationship ahead.”

Mr. Gunit Chadha, Managing Director and CEO, Deutsche Bank, India, said, “In partnering with TERI, Deutsche Bank would like to reiterate its commitment in nurturing and financing world class infrastructure projects in India. As policy makers and the government focus on creating new infrastructure projects, I believe the combined strengths of TERI and Deutsche Bank will contribute significantly to this process and that the graduates from the TERI University will play a vital role in this national endeavour.”
The MoU was signed in the presence of Mr. Shrinath Bolloju, Chief Operating Officer, Deutsche Bank, Mr. B. K. Chaturvedi, Member, Planning Commission and Group Captain Rajiv Seth, Registrar, TERI University. 

The MBA (Infrastructure) program at TERI has been designed to create professionals who have a sound understanding of the technical, policy/legal, financial, social and environmental dimensions of large infrastructure projects. The MBA program encompasses a two-year curriculum to enable students to formulate, analyze and evaluate regulatory policies and manage alternative regulatory regimes in the best interests of their businesses.

TERI University was granted “Deemed to be University” status by the University Grants Commission in Oct 1999. The University offers Masters and Doctoral level programs. The University has recently moved to a new campus at Vasant Kunj in New Delhi. It offers the following programs: Doctoral programs, MA (Public Policy & Sustainable Development), MBA (Infrastructure), M Sc (Environmental Studies), M Sc (Natural Resources Management), M Sc (Water Resources Management), M Sc (Geoinformatics), M Sc (Plant Biotechnology), M Sc (Climate Science & Policy), M Tech (Renewable Energy Engineering & Management), MBA (Business Sustainability).
