Close on the heels of IIM-A and IIM-K, now its turn of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) to increase the fees for its postgraduate programme in management (PGP).

According to PTI, the fee has been increased by Rs 25,000 from the next session. The decision was taken in a board meeting last weekend. The new fee for PGP programme stands at Rs 2 lakh per annum.

According to IIM-C sources, the institution spends around Rs 4 lakh per student each year. To bridge the gap between fees and the actual investment per student, IIM-C is considering many options including raising the recruiter’s placement fee.

The summer of 2007 will see students shelling out more tuition fee with several IIMs and other top-schools increasing their fees. MBAUniverse.com has earlier reported that IIM-A and IIM-K have recently hiked their fees too.
