IIM Indore announces 46 MDPs for 2007-08

The Indian Institute of Management-Indore (IIM-I) has announced its Management Development Programs (MDPs) calendar for 2007-2008.

According to the information shared by IIM Indore with MBAUniverse.com, in the financial year 2007-2008, it has planned 46 MDPs on the variety of topics. The MDPs will cover a wide range of areas including General Management, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Supply Chain Management, Production & Inventory Management, Quantitative Techniques, Decision Making, Information Technology, International Business, Business Communication, Human Resource Management and Behavioral Science.

The fees will range between Rs 8,000 and Rs 18,000.

Some of the topics that will be covered are: Challenges and Opportunities in the WTO Regime, New Business Environment and Marketing Strategies, Strategic Thinking for Business Managers and Best Business Practices for Global Competitiveness, Corporate Governance and the Role of Independent Directors, Managing Innovation for Strategic Advantage, Managerial Effectiveness, Leadership Skills Development and Managerial Skills for High Performance. These MDPs are focused on helping organizations and individuals achieve and sustain success in their business objectives.

IIM Indore’s Prof P K Chande is the MDP chairperson. Other members in the MDP committee will have several IIM-I faculty members, among them Prof Abha Chatterjee, Prof Ashish Sadh, Prof C Lakshman, Prof D L Sunder, Prof Justin Paul, Prof Pranab K Pani and Prof Prithivi P Yadav and Prof V K Gupta.

Prof S P Parashar, director, IIM-I will teach two of the MDPs – ‘Integrated Risk Management for Bankers’ and ‘Debt Documentation and Recovery Management.’ Prof Rajagopal of ITESM Mexico, will teach one MDP on ‘Advance Selling Systems’ which is targeted for sales executives and managers of family owned businesses.

Introducing the MDP calendar, Prof P K Chande says, “The programs developed by the IIM's faculty members bring in contemporary theory and practices to classroom with a participative learning environment for generation of knowledge and competence building. The pedagogies are tuned to match the learning requirements of each program… The Management Development Centre of IIM-I, along with the expert faculty from different areas of management, have come up with state-of-the-art programs for executives from the industry.”

MDPs will expose managers to new concepts, latest research, and leading-edge business and management practices across critical contemporary business issues. The sessions will comprise a combination of presentations, discussions and syndicate work – that will all instigate lively debate and offer executives vital networking opportunities.
