Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal’s Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) University in Mumbai will hold its convocation ceremony on 27th April 2007.

It will be presided by Mr. U. K. Sinha, Chairman & Managing Director, UTI Asset Management Company Pvt. Ltd (UTIAMC). The class of 2007 of NMIMS, MBA - Core Program, PGDPM & PGDBM (Family Business) will pass officially graduate.

Students will be presented with gold rings with ‘NMIMS 2007’ inscribed on them. According to information provided by NMIMS to MBAUniverse.com, “The ring symbolises the bond that the students of NMIMS have had with the University, the faculty and their fellow colleagues over the past two years.” This ring will be worn on the right hand. “The left hand ring which is the engagement ring says, ‘I do’ where as the right hand ring worn by the NMIMS students will proclaim, ‘What I have done’."

Mr U K Sinha is a member of Indian Administrative services (IAS), belonging to the Bihar Cadre. Before taking over UTIAMC, he held key positions in the joint secretary level, looking after capital markets, external commercial borrowings, banking, and currency and coins. He now holds the rank of an Additional Secretary to the Government of India, other than continuing his deputation in UTI as CMD.

Established in 1981, by the order of the University of Mumbai, NMIMS is now entering its 26th year. It was established to meet the growing demand for young managers. Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal was among the first educational trusts to have realized this need and furthered the interests of aspiring management students and the needs of the challenging world of business.
