UK based Tanaka Business School at London University’s Imperial College has launched 5 new Rajiv Gandhi scholarships, each worth £20,000, for Indian MBA students.

The scholarships will be for a one-year full-time Imperial MBA program commencing in October 2007. The last date to apply for the scholarships is 31 July 2007.

According to Tanaka Business School, “To apply for a scholarship, the applicant must have an offer of a place on the Imperial MBA and a GMAT score of 680 (or above).”

For this scholarship, candidates should be Indian citizens and non-UK resident. They should possess “exceptional leadership and management skills”. Says Imperial College, “Applicant should have particularly strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build and manage relationships with a diverse range of people. With this, they should have a clear understanding about they will make a positive, and enduring, contribution to the life of the School.”

The fees for the Imperial MBA are £26,500, which is same for both UK and international students.

The scholarships will be a key part of the college's centenary celebrations, and celebrates the fact that India's former Prime Minister, the late Rajiv Gandhi, was an alumnus of Imperial College.
Imperial College and the Confederation of Indian Industry have also formed a collaborative relationship to create the Rajiv Gandhi Centre, which helps Indian and British companies to improve performance in innovation management.

According to Tanaka Business School, its full-time MBA course is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice and allow the students to gain core business knowledge and skills while having the flexibility to follow individual interests.
