FORE to offer new Post Graduate Diploma in Management (International Business Management) program for 2007 session

Foundation for Organizational Research and Education (FORE) School of Management (FSM), Delhi, is offering a new AICTE approved two-year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Management (International Business Management) (PGDM-IBM) for its session 2007

This will be in addition to its two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDM) and part-time PGDM. The new academic session for the two-year full-time PGDM program is starting on 15th June 2007 while the PGDM (IBM) course and the part-time PGDM program will start from July.

The institute will also organize preparatory courses during the orientation program to enable students to acquire essential knowledge in different management areas, before the actual start of the regular courses.

The AICTE has given its approval for the introduction this new course with an intake of 60 students. According to information shared by FSM with MBAUniverse.com, “AICTE has also accorded its approval for the increase in intake from 60 to 90 to FORE’s existing three-year part-time Post Graduate Diploma in Management. The seats in the two-year full-time PGDM program remain the same, viz. 150 seats.”

According to FORE, “The idea of starting the new course in the International Business Management area was generated in consultation with corporates and industry professionals who had been at FORE School of Management for the placement of students.” PGDM-IBM aims at preparing students to take up career in corporate houses and family businesses engaged in international business operations.

The objective behind this is to develop and train participants for assuming positions of responsibility in the corporate or family business sector. According to FSM, “It will provide a thorough grounding to the participants in the conceptual framework of management theory, in the skills appropriate to managerial practice, as well as in the essential issues in international business operations.”

It equips the participants for working in a competitive global environment enabling them to confidently face pressures and challenges of the new millennium and in achieving a comparative advantage.

According FORE, “Course curriculum is updated every year in consultation with corporates…. With the introduction of PGDB-IBM, students will be able to get the exposure to international business curriculum in Marketing, Finance, HRM, Information Technology and other major areas of business study.”

For this, the institute will adopt a mix of lecture, discussions, case studies, role-plays, group discussions, special sessions from professionals from industry and trade, management games, sensitivity training, management films, industrial visits and industry interaction. According to FORE, “The students are encouraged to represent their cases through individual presentations. Further opportunity is provided through participation of students in various seminars.”
