Leading B-schools participate in IIMA's Insight 2010

IIM, Ahmedabad hosted its annual marketing research fair, 'Insight 2010' on October 2 and 3, 2010 at its campus. Insight 2010 witnessed a plethora of events ranging from informative seminars to grooving Rock show.

IIM Ahmedabad hosted its two day long annual marketing research fair, ‘Insight 2010’ on October 2 and 3, 2010 at its campus. The event received overwhelming response from the participants who belonged to the industry and students from leading B-schools.

Day 1 of the ‘Insight 2010’ started with a seminar by S. Sridhar, Chairman and MD, Central Bank of India. Prof. Sridhar elucidated the requirement and role of market research in PSU banks. The seminar covered topics ranging from practices and methodologies in market research to treating marketing research as a career and not as a process. The seminar was attended by more than 180 students from institutes like XLRI, FMS, IIT Delhi, MICA, IIM Shillong, IBS.
The seminar was followed by a workshop organized by the Nielsen Company. It kicked-off with a contemporary overview on the marketing research industry globally as well as in India with special focus on how various businesses can benefit from marketing research.

The workshop continued for 2 hours, illustrating various tools and best practices followed in the industry for Marketing Research. After the workshop, participants were divided into groups and were given a real-life marketing research case.

This was followed by ‘Bone of Contention', an all India invitational marketing debate competition saw teams from IIM-C, IIFT ,XLRI and many more. A ‘Campus Walk’ was organized which was attended by a lot of local people. The intention of the Campus Walk was to maintain the link between the Institute and city and to work towards the noble cause of helping PRAYAAS.

A painting exhibition was also organized by Finesse, the Fine Arts Club of IIM-A. The exhibition was a part of the Joy of Giving week. More than 60 paintings made by IIM faculties, their family members and the students were put on display.
Day 2 of ‘Insight 2010’ was filled with a lot of enthusiasm and entertainment. The market research fair had more than 16 stalls of different companies, each offering a fun-filled experience for the visitors. The event on the day included the finals of ‘Bone of Contention’, the first ever marketing debate competition held in India. IIM-C and IIM-K emerged as finalists, with IIM-K clinching the title in a closely contested debate. Ad Mad Show, the ad-making competition, saw a large turnout and brought out some creative advertisement ideas from the participating teams. Events like Race Course provided a mix of Bollywood and bidding action in one go. Some innovative events like Pandora’s Box (a fun-filled memory game), Curfew Paintball arcade (a war-zone based adventure simulation event) saw a huge lineup of youngsters throughout the day.

The day concluded with Music Mania (stage performance by IIM-A Music Club) and Antakshari.
