The Center for Executive Education at TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI) has launched a Global MBA program (GMBA) along with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, USA and the University of Applied Sciences, Darmstadt, Germany.

This 18-month program will begin in August 2007 and end in March 2009, and is targeted at management executives who will need to work with US and European clients and counterparts.

The format of this program ensures that participants can continue to follow their work schedules, as it involves three stretches of two weeks away from work over an 18-month period. TAPMI will admit 30 participants -- 10 from each country. The course fee is pegged at Rs 3 lakhs with an additional expenditure of Rs 2.5 lakhs on international travel. The program will cover courses like Global Supply Chain, Global Project Management, Global Marketing, Global Strategy Formulation, IT for Global Organizations.

TAPMI will certify the program along with Universities of Oshkosh and Darmstadt. The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s College of Business’s Global MBA and MSIS degrees are accredited by AACSB International. The University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt, Germany, gets its accreditations from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation.

TAPMI states that they have launched the GMBA program since executives require more interaction at a global level. “As organizations expand their scope of work, more executives in organizations need to interact with their counterparts and clients abroad in the US and Europe. Many organizations have found excellent performers facing difficulties in understanding the mindsets and perspectives of these counterparts/clients,” says TAPMI. “The GMBA program has been designed so that executives learn latest management concepts and skills and at the same time learn to work with their GMBA team members from US and Germany in a non threatening environment.”

The TAPMI Centre for Executive Education is based in Bangalore, and has been offering executive education programs for the last ten years. It offers programs like the Executive Post Graduate Program in Management (EPGPM) and the Executive Post Graduate Diploma in Management (EPGDM). These programs are delivered as classroom sessions in the evenings or over the weekends.
