Ishan Institute of Management’s 13th batch begins new session

Delhi/NCR-based Ishan Institute of Management and Technology (IIMT) started its 13th batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program on July 11.

The institute invited Mr Anil Jain, former chairman, Institute of Chartered Accounts of India and Mr Bimal Dubey, PCS ADM, Finance and Revenue, G B Nagar district, for the orientation program. They gave insights to the new batch on management. The gathering was also addressed by Dr D K Garg, chairman, IIMT, and Mr Alok Pratap, deputy director IIMT.

The orientation program introduced the students to the culture and ethics of the institute and also the role that a MBA degree would play in their lives as management professionals. Also discussed was the institute’s expectations from the coming batch.

While addressing the new batch, Dr D K Garg, “We at Ishan believe that our students will be extraordinary. We want to make them self-dependent and practical. We are not chasing any dream of good placements but we are promising to make you better leader and manager.”

On the occasion, Mr Anil Jain highlighted India’s booming economy, the role of MBA, SWOT (Strength, Weakness, opportunities and threats) and importance of time management. “I know that that there is a perception among people that IIM students are the best but it doesn’t mean that you are not. I believe that it is individuals who can make the difference with his or her ability and extraordinary qualities because ultimately it is not perception but performance which pays.”

Mr Bimal Dubey said, “To become professional you should succeed in every aspect of life. For this I would suggest you ABC by which I mean Ability, Break (opportunity) and Courage.”

While highlighting some facts on India’s economic boom and the increasing needs of MBA professionals, Mr Anil Jain said, “Today, we are seeing the trend of skilled professionals as being part of India’s booming economy. The sector, which is at the top is the service sector. It has 51% contribution in our GDP.”

Commenting on the scope of MBA, he said, “MBA as a profession has a very bright future. So those who have opted for an MBA have taken right decision.”

Ishan Institute of Management and Technology, established in 1994, is accredited by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). According to Ishan Institute, “Its emphasis is on nurturing talent, which would enrich the national fabric and shall act as a driving force transforming the country to a lofty and talented future.”

It offers full time and part time Post Graduate Diplomas in Management, a two-year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management and a two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in International Business.
