For students at SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai, the bullish trend at the job market has brought them back in the forefront during the annual placement season this year.

According to institute sources the final placement process for the students of 2009-11 batch ended on 25 February 2011. The Placement process saw companies queuing up for selection of candidate for lateral and fresher recruitment.

The average domestic package for the batch was more than Rs 14 lakhs per annum.
Prof. Abbasali Gabula, Deputy Director (External Relations & Administration), SPJIMR, who has seen the turn of events over his 10 long years in the Education sector, told MBAUniverse.com, "The economy is definitely booming and hence the salaries have risen sharply. The companies spent more time in the hiring process which is good for the participants."

Amit Aggarwal, Placement Co-coordinator, SPJIMR, informed MBAUniverse.com, “The market has picked up and it was a challenge to manage total of 71 companies on campus this year. 17 new companies participated in the campus placements.”

The final placement process saw FMCG, Consulting, Financial Services, Banks, IT Consulting, IT sales and IT advisory, Pharma and Telecom companies offering attractive profiles to the MBA students.

Some key recruiters on campus were P&G, HUL, Deloitte, GE, Microsoft, TAS, Citibank, PwC, KPMG, Reliance Industries, JM Financial, Barclays, Standard Chartered, HSBC, Cognizant, CapGemini, Nestle, ICRA, E&Y, Edelweiss, GSK, J P Morgan, Philips etc.

Foreign offers were received from companies like Deloitte, Thomson Reuters, etc.
